Hi all. I saw my obstetrician today and due to high blood pressure and gestational diabetes, he has booked me in to be induced when I'm 36w4d. I know he is a qualified specialist but he thinks this is the best thing to do with my risk of pre-eclampsia. Im just worried this is too soon. Has anyone else been induced this early???

My waters spontaneously ruptured at 36+2. I was given steroids through an IV.

Bub changed her mind about coming and I ended up having to be induced the following day because nothing was happening. That night I gave birth to my little girl. She was 2710g (a touch under 6lbs) 47cm long. She was slightly jaundiced but otherwise absolutely perfect and I went home after 3 days original.gif

With your complications bub is most likely safer out than in and 36w is not dangerously early.

Wishing you the best for the birth of your bubba.

I wasn't induced but had a c-section at 34 weeks and 4 days due to low fluid. I had a couple of shots of steriods, my DS was born perfectly fine at 2.1kg or 4'11. He spent a few weeks in the special care nursery but is completely fine.
With current one I am 36 weeks and ave been booked in for a 37 week delivery.
Good luck

I was induced at 36 w 6 days with DD due to IUGR. I was very worried as she was small and I thought it might all be too much for her but she was fine. She weighed 2.2kg (5 pounds) and was 46cm long. She spent one day and night in the special care nursery due to her blood sugar levels and we had some problems breastfeeding at first due to her tiny mouth but it all sorted out within a fortnight.

Good luck.
