So many recommendations for MAC here ,they are very popular... but in my experience, MAC is a brand associated with photographic makeup... and the young 'nightclub' crowd who require more coverage and a heavier application. Have you seen the girls working in there? All have very out there makeup and very heavily applied. I used to use their products until one day I decided to try the Chanel foundation upon a recommendation. I was in the Chanel makeup store and the artist applied a full face of makeup for me... I was sold. Never, ever have I looked as good as I did then. I now use almost entirely Chanel products... although I am on the hunt for a good mascara.

I have heard the Giorgio Armani products are just as good as Chanel.

Eyeshadows - Chanel or YSL
Lipsticks - Clinique or Dior - both lovely and moist.
Skin care - Clinque or Clarins
Foundations - Clarins

MAC for night time or a done up look. Clinique for a more natural softer look.

IMHO If you are wanting that natural look to just be more defined and hide imperfections you would be better off seeing the girls at bobby brown.

Bobby Brown has a line of natural eyeshadow colours and can put together a 4 pallet for you of 3 eyeshadows and 1 cheek colour that will see you through any situation.

Whilst MAC has its place and has highly skilled artists, I fear you would be intimidated and Bobby Brown would suit the everyday women better.

I don't think we've even GOT Bobbi Brown in Canberra.
We're such a backwater for some stuff it seems.
I'd like a good natural pink neutral lipstick, matte or semi matte, but most are too brown or sparkly. I'll have to look online and see what I can find I guess. Sigh.

For a fair Asian-type skin I would highly recommed Shu Uemura which have counters in DJ in both Melbourne & Sydney.

In general though, I would go for Chanel or Mecca Cosmetica as their product range is so varied & of such high quality that it would be highly impossible to not find something that matches your skin tone or personal need (I'm biased - yes, I know...) rolleyes.gif

As pp have mentioned, do check product prices at strawberrynet before you buy - you will most likely made heaps of savings there as compared to buying it off the counter. Plus their shipping is ridiculously fast!
