Mum of a superstar
For the past 12 weeks DH and I have had Rosalie picked as our name for this baby. But now I am definitely leaning towards our backup name (one that was put in the mix by dh).

Persephone

It's different and I think a lot of people will think we are strange, but I think that is appealing to me.

Or Penelope - which I also love.

Thoughts?

Persephone is a pretty name but deadly difficult to pronounce if you haven't come across it before. I like Penelope more.

Definitely Penelope, I couldn't stand that she might get 'Percy-phone' from people who hadn't heard of it before. Penelope is not a common name but still pretty and feminine.

Don't count on Penelope being pronounced properly either. I had someone call at work once looking for a Peen-a-lope. laughing2.gif

I like Persephone.

Stupid people aren't flammable enough
I love Persephone. I would pick that over Penelope every single time.

Remember you are unique...just like everyone else!
I think Persephone is one of those names that people like to like, but in reality i would be awful if it was your actual name.
Imagine the constant mispronunciation in all the school years... not fun if you are the one with the name.

Rosalie and Penelope are much lovelier!

Roslyn Penelope?
Roslyn Persephene?

I prefer Penelope to Persephone as I like Penny more than Percy as a nn.

"It's a foreskin, not a birth defect!"
Another vote for Penelope.

(I know a 'Penny' and she is a lovely lady)
