Until Bean was crawling, I sat in the bottom of the shower with her in my lap, and since she learnt to crawl/walk I just pop her in with me.
We have a grand time, and she knows to walk out of the shower when I turn off the taps and open the curtain, and then wait to be wrapped in her towel original.gif

We shower and hold our son because when we first tried to bath him, he'd scream about it. My partner and I would shower together before he was born anyway so this way we have someone to hand him over to when necessary. This morning when I had him against my chest, he kept tipping his head back, screwing his face shut, and shaking it under the stream. So adorable!

ETA: My child isn't in the 6-12 month age group so I don't actually belong here, I just saw it in the "we are discussing" section and thought I'd throw in a reply anyway.

DS has been sitting up by himself in the bath since about 6.5 months, before then he'd lay down. He loves his bath, loves splashing around and relaxing in the warm water and now loves playing with his duckies and chewing on them.

To make it more comfortable for me I got one of those waterproof gardening cushions to kneel on for a bit, now just a water resistant outdoor setting cushion to sit on next to the bath. I get drenched on occasion, but it's only water original.gif

DS is 8 months old & I bath with him every night unless DH is home in time, we love it. Have been doing this since he was about 4 months old & too big for the baby bath, plus I have bad wrists & couldn't hold him well.

Just last week I git a bath seat for the night when I really can't be bothered jumping in and it's great, yes there is still the kneeling etc but you can have your hands free to move around a bit more. He didn't like it at first but he's getting better, still only using it a couple of ties a week though, we love our bath time together, reminds me of when he was born ( in water) & scooped up onto my chest, I'll hang onto that feeling for ever.

Until DD2 was able to sit unassisted, a gf loaned me her sling type bath seat that you just put inside the big bath, it was a godsend.

Insert something witty.
We have showered her since birth. In sling style support, then sitting up suction one, now she just sits or crawls around the bottom. She loves it! I undress her then put her down and she power crawls with glee for the shower original.gif

We dont have a bath. DS bathed in the laundry tub until he was about 18 months old. Then we used a bath seat when we showered, or a flexi tub in the bottom of the shower for him the bath in, which we still use now, DS is 3.
I sit on his step stool on the floor to wash him when he is in the "bath" .
