I found bi-carb soda mixed to a paste with some water to be effective. Apply to the head, leave it for a couple of minutes, gently brush with a baby brush, then wash out.

Another vote for MooGoo here...

When I first used it DD has reasonably bad cradle cap and it took about 3 days of applying twice a day and it was gone.

Now I uses it one or twice a week after her bath and we haven't had any reoccurence.

Bi carb in a paste is very quick and effective!!

Mix bi carb with water into a thick paste.
Put it onto the affected areas and leave it in for awhile - say and hour or two then rinse it off and most of the crustiness is gone!

Before you spend days using oil - try it - treatment in done in a couple of hours!

I used pawpaw lotion on my DS, it softened it enough to be able to comb it out.

Well the bicarb paste had her crying in pain. I had to wash if off. She stopped crying as soon as I washed it off. It must have stung her.
I think I'm off to buy some moo goo...

My baby had really bad cradle cap - it seemed as though half his scalp was peeling one point. I massaged macadamia oil in each night after his bath and scraped off as much as I could. I then applied a herbal antiseptic/antifungal cream called Phytoseptic. Swear by this cream - applied it twice a day. Whenever I stopped, the cradle cap came back. Within 1-2 days of using it, his scalp was totally clear again.

I probably wouldn't use it on a small baby, but my two year old's cradle cap finally has gone after I used Head and Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo on him. I just used it two nights in a row, rubbing it into his scalp with a face washer, and the cradle cap hasn't come back.

Three kids tragic CC (even my 5yo still gets CC from time to time).

Olive Oil did NOTHING
BiCarb did NOTHING

Moo Goo got rid of it all within 3 days (plus did not give DS2 a bald patch like happened when he was 3yrs and I olive oil and combed his hair... a patch 1 inch by 2 inches was left bald on his head at that time). The Moo Goo I apply for 3 days then comb out with nit comb.

Moo Goo all the way for us.
