I have been told by the GP and peadiatrician to use anti dandruff shampoo (Selsun). Just a little amount when washing bub's head.

I got some moo goo excema cream yesterday and put on at lunch yesterday then after her bath last night & am doing the same today.

I can't believe the difference already. It's barely noticeable. Her skin is still a bit rough and I'll keep it up for a few days.
But it is making a huge difference already!
love it.

I found bi-carb soda mixed to a paste with some water to be effective. Apply to the head, leave it for a couple of minutes, gently brush with a baby brush, then wash out.

This worked for dd- though hers wasn't too bad. I did this a couple of nights in a row and it has now disappeared.

If you can find the Mustela brand of baby products (I got ours at our local chemist) - it is amazing!

My daughters cradle cap was gone in a matter of a week. I used the foaming shampoo and the lotion for cradle cap on my baby. It is on the more expensive side but it is the only thing that worked for her. Totally worth it!

The Mustela is good but the Moo Goo Scalp Cream is the best.

I will admit to still using the Mustela shampoo for my kids.

OP glad to hear that the Moo Goo is working for you cool.gif

I used pawpaw lotion on my DS, it softened it enough to be able to comb it out.

I tried this on DD last week and the thickness of it was pulling her hair out sad.gif I love it too

I've just started using the moogoo scalp cream on my little DS. He is only 6 weeks old but the cradle cap is alreafy forming all over his scalp and in his eyebrows. He is quite dry around the ears too so I've been applying it all over. Seems to be helping so far but needs a few more days I think. I love the smell though, natural and no strong perfume like some other baby lotions.

OP I have the eczema cream as well to treat some eczema on my hands - you'll have to let us know how it works on the cradle cap, I might try it on my DS too!

Another vote for Moogoo scalp cream here - the olive oil and the bicarb did nothing.

'sup y'all...(:P)
hi.. another one who's bub is suffering cradle cap... my ds is only 4 weeks old, will things like the moogoo or anti dandruff shampoo be too much for him, or ok? and his cradle cap isnt too bad on his scalp, but the rash has spread all over his poor face and ears, and on his shoulders. apart from airing his skin out i have been washing with saline a couple of times a day followed by sorbolene... its not getting any worse, but what else can i use on his skin? (have tried pawpaw cream, EPO, and gaia baby nappy cream ( is natural and can be used on the face)all these things without results)...any suggestions welcome. sorry to take over thread, just figured more info might help others in future too. unsure.gif

I thnk it depends on what the rash is, what the cause is.
It may not be cradle cap, it could be the usual newborn rash (erythema) or something else.
Would you consider avoiding trying any more remedies and get in contact with your CHN on Monday for advice?
Perhaps just water for a wash?
I hope it goes soon, all the best.
