Hi, I need some advice on my magic Alls. I have about 10 of these nappies and they have all delaminated and the elastic has perished. The elastic is easy enough to replace, but what elastic do I use? The delamination means it's no longer water proof. I suppose I can just use a PUL cover but is it worth unpicking and replacing it? If I were to replace I assume there is something similar I can buy at spotlight?
I hope it makes sense and that someone can help me. The nappy itself is still in really good condition, just useless in its current condition. They're too good to throw away, but not really sell-able. Thanks for any help. |

Hi aelee,
To replace the elastic you should use lastin (usually available online, but may be in some shops) or swimwear elastic (I've got it from Spotlight before) as ordinary elastic won't stand up as well. If the laminate is just peeling away then the nappy should be still alright to use - just be careful with it. If the laminate's been torn or has holes in it, though, you will get leaks and will have to use a cover over the top for it to be waterproof. Good luck. |

Thanks DDU. Hopefully I'll get to spotlight tomorrow. The laminate is hard to explain. There are no obvious holes or tears, but the nappies constantly leak. The laminate looks crinkly and sounds crinkly when you pick it up. It actually sounds like its tearing away from itself. But it's the leaking that's really annoying.
