I hope not sporadically!
I don't think they do prefolds, just 'foldups', which are meant to be used more as boosters. Hang on to them, if you can afford it, because they are fantastic as the baby gets older and you do need more boosting in other nappies.

Thrice blessed.
I think you might be confused. If you're talking about Bamboo foldups, they're a nappy booster not a nappy itself. You could use one on a premmie or small baby, but they're not as big as the hemp prefolds Baby Beehinds used to sell.

I never used my prefolds as a nappy as such, I folded them up and laid them in a Bummis cover and used them that way. They worked a treat, don't tell me I was doing it wrong! unsure.gif
I used this method from the Ozcloth nappies site.

yeah but they were marketed on "darlingsdownunder" that they could be used as a prefold......didnt realise they werent exactly prefolds. I got 12 of them.....so i feel as I wouldnt need all of that, as I have got some boosters already (the slim line ones)

when you buy stuff, check the dimensions.

like a baby beehinds foldup is 30 x 30cm, so look at a ruler and that will tell you how long and how wide it is.

a nappy flat is more like 60 x 60cm long and wide.

for my nb, who was not tiny at 3.8kg, i used a baby beehinds FOLDUP. I pad folded it into three and laid that into my nb sized nappy covers, worked best with the PUL covers with leg gussets. I didn't need to snappi it, as long as cover was firm fit, that was fine. I found this much simpler than folding a nappy flat - just coudln't get the hang of that.

when my baby grew, i used those baby beehind foldups as boosters in fitted nappies, and inserts in pocket nappies.

Why don't you have a go, fold the square in three, lay that in a cover - have a go with one, so if you still don't like it, you can send back the other 11 or exchange or something.

but remember, bamboo needs six pre-washes to reach max absorbency.

I also used the baby beehinds prefolds, pity to hear they are not being made anymore. but i preferred the pad folded foldups for the nb stage - when i was too sleep deprived to cope with anything complicated!!!

thanks purplebilby - will try that.....im sure it will work in the newborn stage, before I can use the baby beehinds bamboo to go with the mandy macs i bought....i will then by pockets later on and stuff them with that.
