we purchased the roomba 577 and i am very impressed, I didn't want to fork out the money for it but we did and I dont regret it.

We have an upright dyson vacuum cleaner and the difference between the two is incredible. The roomba once its vacuumed the room makes the room look totally different, like its picked up more than the dyson. The other advantage is you can put the robot to work and then you can concentrate on doing other cleaning in other parts of the house.

I would spend the money and buy one, you wont regret it.

I now want to purchase the robot mop, but have read mixed reviews on it. So we will think a bit longer on it.

There is a fair bit of price difference between the two, how do you decide which one is what you need?

This is what I am trying to decide. I also have a dyson which I love and to have a robot which does better would be heavenly!
What makes the 577 better than the 530????

The 700 series will be available in Australia by May. We recently thought about getting one and didn't for a variety of reasons (none of which had to do with the product itself and mainly to do with the fact that we ddidn't really need it) and I did contact the Australian distributor to see if the new models will be out soon. They were expecting delivery April-May. So I'd wait.

I'm thinking I'll get the cheaper of the two, simply because I only want it to collect dust and little tidbits that fall on the floor. I have a dyson for serious vacuuming.

Sorry no idea on price.

If its just for little things that fall on the floor, surely a cheap DustBuster would be ok?

I have a 530 and it is fine. From the looks of it the new one can clean for longer before needing charging and can be programmed.

I am not sure if I would pay extra for that. I find it no hassle to walk out the door and press the button on my way for it to clean. The longer battery life would be good, I do find that a pain sometimes.

Honestly you will love it if you get one, I have one so I dont have to vaccum daily and it is awesome. I then do a full clean with the proper vac about once a week.
