As the title says, we are in talks with a breeder or Golden Retrievers who has come highly recommended. She charges 1500 for a puppy, who will have all the necessary papers and vet checks, microchipped and pet insurance. Does that sound reasonable? I'm happy to pay more to get a puppy with a good temperament and pedigree as she will be our children's first dog.
Thank you Eta.. Moving this to pets! What a great idea pp This post has been edited by imac: 16/12/2012, 07:08 PM |

Yes, it sounds about right for a pup registered with the states canine controlling body, bred from parents with all the appropriate health tests completed (and proof furnished to you with the purchase of the pup). Make sure that when you get the pups pedigree, the transfer section on the back has been signed by the breeder so you can immediately transfer the pup to your name.

Yes, $1500 is standard for a well bred Goldie.
Best money you will ever spend ;-) |

Id say that's actually quite good for a dog with papers and good pedigree. That's how much my mum paid for her golden 12 years ago.

We paid $900 each eleven years ago for our boys.
