Thanks everyone, for your speedy wishes! Im still waiting and getting more impatient, unfortunately. Lucky my family is visiting, theyre a very welcome distraction. But I feel kind of bad. Theyve taken 2 weeks off work to meet our new baby and it looks like theyll hardly get any time with her before they have to go back.

HOPE6 - know what you mean about renovating. We also bought an old house, original condition, so we spent the first 18months-2 years doing renos as well. It was really nice to be able to have a bunch of friends over and enjoy being in our nice house. Baby shower (and baby of course!) is good motivation to get things finished!

Sunshiney - our hospitals policy is very similar to yours and it freaked me out a bit too. Personally id be glad to stay in for a few days, get some rest and have things done for me! Our hospital says their policy is to discharge within 6-24 hours after birth, with frequent midwife visits to your home. But when we attended the prenatal training day at the hospital they said that in reality for most first time Mums its more likely to be at least 24 hours. They want to make sure you're breastfeeding properly before they let you go, and the 6-24 hours more often applies to Mums who've done it before. Maybe yours will turn out more like that too. Thanks for the tip about accupressure points. I hadnt heard that so Im going to look into it.

ksds and Dreaming - welcome to our group. Sorry to hear you've both had a really rough time getting here. I hope the rest of your journey goes smoothly and this is your sticky bubba. KSDS - good luck with your blood test today. Let us know how you go, we'll be thinking of you.

emmy-g - doesnt it feel more real when you start putting the nursery together. So fun isnt it?

Jaynen - what a good time to be made redundant. Seems to fit in perfectly with your plans anyway. Hihi, you made me laugh... i have a mental image of a stick figure pregnant lady walking around on sausages! My puffy has taken over my feet and moved all the way up my legs - boohoo! Hope it goes away really quickly when our baby comes. Hope yours does too, it just makes everything so much more difficult and uncomfortable. Its getting pretty close for you now too. How are you feeling?

miss petal - glad your US went well. Its so amazing seeing them move and wriggle and do normal baby things like sucking thumbs isnt it? And congratulations on your little girl! You'll even up the numbers a bit with your little girl - we always seem to have more baby boys in this group.

Gaia - nice to see you again, thanks for visiting. I cant wait to join you in the other group. Hope you're doing well.

AFM - reading miss petals post got me excited again thinking about what we might have. I still think we're having a gril but cant wait to find out for sure and see what s/he looks like. Hurry up and come out little bubba!! Ive been drinking oil each night, and taking walks each day, but im starting to think that maybe our bubba is continuing a strong family trait of DH's - a relaxed approach to everything, "I'll do it later"! Like Jaynen, I keep talking to our baby each time she's moving around and telling her not to be scared, its ok to come out now and we really want to meet her.
