Hi everyoneDoes anyone know the recommendation for a 6.5month old FF baby on 3 solid meals a day as to AMOUNTS?My DD is currently drinking approx 650ml-800mls of formula per day plus approx 8-12 tablespoons of solids per day (rice cereal, fruit veg, chicken etc)I don't want to be over or under feeding her at each meal/bottle. Prior to solids, she was having about 900mls per day of formula but has dropped off significantly due to the introduction of solids which is expected, just need some reassurance that my figures seem ok as I know formula should be her main food at this stage. She's almost 9kgs, 75th percentile for weight and height...Thanks ladies original.gif

No idea on recommendations, sorry.

I have always just fed my kids what they needed. If she is satisfied, is having plenty of wet nappies, not constipated and sleeping well, then I wouldn't worry about recommendations. Just go with your gut. Add a sippy cup with water to make up the drop in fluids but don't stress as to how much she drinks.

I can't tell you how much my DD is aving as it varies so much on a day to day basis.

I was told between 600-800mls... My bub has only ever just done that. When she first started actually eating instead of playing we struggled to get her to feed at all during the day, she would only overnight, but now she has slowly started to again. She has always struggled to feed well (allergies & silent reflux) but her weight gain has always been average. She has fussy days where she refuses to have bottles but a few data later she is ok again. Sounds like your bub is doing really well!

Can't comment on how my much solids because we are doing blw which has been so much fun. Again, some days I can't believe how much she eats & others seems like she has nothing, in just trying to follow her lead, if u offer it she can't starve!

We generally go by the recommendation on the formula tin. We're feeding our daughter Bellamy's organic formula, which suggests 3 x 240ml bottles a day with 2 - 3 solids feeds a day, so around 720ml of formula. That being said, she absolutely will not eat all of that, she's a tiny thing and we're lucky to get 550 - 600ml into her a day.

Given her percentile, I think that sounds like a good balance you've got going on.
