Wow there's a youtube vid that's super dull but he's a brit. There's also this but it doesn't offer which dialect is being spoken. She sounds like a bored teen from the western suburbs of sydney to me. How's this for a spanner? I've been searching for one of those audio sites that has multiple pronounciation according to dialect but can't find one for Keziah. Sorry Ahahaha, maybe you can maybe see why I was confused. I still like the meaning (the tree cinnamon is from) and Biblical aspect but yeah. No votes for KEE-zhah? I swear I've heard that one, along with different people using the different examples in the thread. Okay. My next name question heads to Ireland: Saoirse. Is it 1) Sear-sha 2) SARE-sha, as in the first syllable of Sarah 3) SOR-sha And if anyone else has name questions as well I'd feel like less of a dope. |

See I thought it was Seer-sha too, but that's not how Saoirse Ronan says it, she says its "sur-shuh." But people have told me she intentionally uses an unusual pronunciation? Though why would you...?

It's a rather difficult name to pronounce off the bat at the best of times, why anyone would feel the need to liven the pronounciation up to something that cannot be fathomed is beyond me - ASW-type stuff. BTW, Keziah I would just pronounce phonetically (ke ZI (rhymes with EYE) ar) until corrected. |

Keziah was on my list! I love it, it's a family name, one of my distant relatives.
Go for it. |
