My Medela Swing just got delivered, very happy to be free of the manual pump! So I set it up (I'm at work) for our first session. It works great...except it's noisy! The box explicitly says "silent". Yeah right! The whole unit makes this terrible, rhythmic vibrating sound. I don't mind the little tapping sound, but surely this big 'burrr burr burr' is not right? It gets worse the higher I put the suction, and I need high suction! All the people in the offices around me can hear it! Gah so angry!

Mine makes a brr brr brr noise. Its probably not as bad as you think. Could you wrap a towel around the unit?

Mine also makes that sound and it is definitely not silent. If you hold it with your free hand it helps to reduce the noise.
