My DS is year 5 and he has similar words to this. In fact this weeks list had marijuana. |

my year 2 son has them for part of his homework. I thought they were a bit difficult!

Unless he's gifted ... yeah I think they might be. The students who get those words right have a spelling age of 12-16+yrs ...

My DD is in year 6 NSW and does extension work in spelling and creative writing and her words aren't as difficult as this.

nah, not gifted, just very smart. The homework was to look the words up in the dictionary and write down the definitions.
