I've been waking my DS at about 9.30 each night for a dream feed - which has worked really well for us as he usually sleeps through till 6ish. Lately he doesn't seem very interested in the dreamfeed and I was thinking of dropping it but I'm not sure as that would mean he would be going 12 to 13 hours without a feed. That seems like a too long especially as he is only 5 months.
He has 2 breastfeeds, 3 x 250mls bottles, breakfast (yoggurt/fruit/wheetbix/whatever), plus finger foods through the day. He's quite a big boy and eats well.

I only did the dreamfeed with DD1 (as DS didn't need it he was sleeping thru early & it didn't work with DD2 she still woke again). I stopped at 6 mths because I don't believe they need a night feed after that - no flaming from others please, if you choose to night feed beyond then that's your choice not mine. OP you can always try it and if he starts waking you could try upping the milk & solids during the day to get him through the night.

If he eats well during the day and he is physically making his milestones then I see no need for you to continue with the dream feeds. Let him sleep through, I would do that cold turkey and do this tonight. If he needs it again I am sure he will let you know he needs that feed.
For my DD I demand fed from about 5 months because she was getting grizzly when I woke her and it was the best thing I did and she and I got a full night's sleep and she was much happier during the day and I made sure she was getting enough during the day.

Good luck and I hope he transitions well with the new routine.

I dropped it around 6 months. I think 12-13 hours without food is fine if he does it! You are very lucky if he does!
