Woo Hoo Lellybelly- that is a great number well done on 9. Thats cool that they write it on your hand, at least you know straight away. Hope you're feeling okay.
Hope you beautiful ladies are all okay...... AFM: Well today was super confusing but clarifying at the same time. If that makes sense, Iam on an Antagonist cycle, so GonalF 225 from Day 2, then orgalutron injections from Day 8 and hopefully Trigger (Ovidrel) on Day 12, I think that I have to do that one but they tell me when as it is 37 hours to EPU. My DH for the first time looks at me and was so overwhelmed, at the end he said I have a head ache...lol. I said to him, you do. Any, we had the Counselling, which was good, then the Nurse and then the PLA. All okay, in between the appointments, I went to the Loo and bang, spotting, so AF should be here bang on as excepted, so I told the Nurse and they organised my drugs on the spot and I don't have to go back in. Just have to call them when it is officially Day 1, I will watch my flow tomorrow. Sometimes I have spotting for two days and then a proper flow. I had to laugh when the nurse was explaining how to do the needles, she said, just think of your belly button as a nose and your belly as the lips, move the needles along the lips so you don't do the same place twice. I turned to DH and said I don't think I need anymore Collagen there thank you. LOL and then I said, don't think my boobs are the eyes either. I think the nurse wanted to laugh but was trying not too. Ooops she probably thinks we are feral now. All Good. So Hopefully tomorrow is Day 1 ladies and I am on my way. I have decided not to tell anyone when we are exactly starting, only my mum and a close friend, the others I will say in the next couple of weeks, gives us time to get out head around it. |

My EPU is on Tuesday so let's hope I get more than the 1 I got last time! Good Luck babycuddler!! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Lelly - Congrats on the eggs collected! It only takes one remember to make a beautiful bubba. Hopefully you get a great fertilisation wait. Looking forward to hearing an update from you AFM: Day one of IVF #2. I'm on the antagonist protocal so yay for a short cycle. I didn't even feel the needle tonight. I trippled checked to make sure everything went in and sure enough it did. I guess things will be different the second time round - far less anxiety arund the needles than the first cycle I had. However, being a short cycle my thoughts have already started towards EPU. It really hurt the first time. I'm really fearing it. I had the IVF 'sedation' which really did nothing. I was completely alert and I guess it made me feel somewhat calmish. The local anaesthetic really hurt and I nearly jumped off the bed. I wasn't expecting that. I know it sounds stupid, of course needles in the vagina hurt but I just didn't think it'd feel like lightening. I was so emotional too just sobbing silently throughout it. I remember everything so vivdly and I'm completely dreading it. I think I'm a pretty tough cookie.. but god.. I asked about other options and they told me they can give me a tamazapan beforehand? But I mean it's just something to 'calm me'. I don't need calming, I need pain relief! I know I should just not think about it and deal with it when I get there. Right? Does ANYONE else here have their EPU under local? |

Hi lovely ladies
Wow so much happening, i've been lurking but only on iphone, so reading but no writing back. Lelly - well well done on your 9. That's great. Don't be worried. We got more eggs the second cycle but ended up with a lower fertislisation rate than our first cycle but it produced a blast plus 4 frozen, so they were obviously better quality. As Little One says, it only takes one. Looking forward to an update from you & fingers crossed for your transfer later this week? Little One - you sound very relaxed, an ant cycle goes so quickly, mind you I've never had any other kind. I always have complete sedation at EPU, it's like a procedure etc. I never like the anaesethic, but once I'm over that all good, but not a lot of pain or crying, it made me sad you felt like that, talk to them about what they can do as surely this is not all they can offer you. It's no fancy holiday IVF, but they should make you feel comfortable, goodluck! Mish J - sounds like all systems go, goodluck & look forward to hearing you are starting very soon. Jazza L - goodluck for your FET. Babycuddler - can you change my details to BT on 30/4? Goodluck for tomorrow hope it goes well. CClove - I saw your post a few days ago, I know it must be frustrating waiting waiting, but it sounds like it is going in the right direction & very positive for you. I too had a scan for Endo in my early TTC days, my dr was excellent at being able to 'spot' it before operating so I felt very grateful to have his expertise, you will experience the same I'm sure, so worth the wait darl AFM - Blood test next monday, no signs, symptons or anything. I'm feeling relaxed & know if it's meant to be it's meant to be. I've promised DH no HPT, so I'll just have to bide my time till Monday afternoon to find out. Just as well I'm busy & I have a house list of jobs a mile long lol! Hope everyone is travelling well & thinking of you all xxxx |

Evening Ladies
Mish: It's so exciting that you have your drug pack and are ready to go, I got butterflies when I had to book on, I was really excited! LittleOne: I'm on my 2nd cycle as well, and this time it was completely different to the first time. For me, there was so much anxiousness and I was a mess, my DH said my body was having a blonde moment Jazza: Best of luck for your FET! and Yes, they do write the number on your hand, it's the first thing I look at when I wake up! I freaked out for a minute because I thought it was 6, but then I saw the dot = 9. GEH: You're half way there!! You GO GIRL!!! AFM: I've had a topsy turvy day. I was excited about EPU because when I had my scan on Friday, they told me I had 12 + 4 viable follicles, and then today before I was put under they said "based on the scan there will only be X" and I said, "but why? On friday there was 16 and now there's only X??" When I came to and looked at my hand and saw there was 9., I just wanted to talk to my DH and they couldn't get hold of him, and I spent 20 minutes quietly freaking out and having a bit of a cry. When he got there (he thought it was going to take longer) he held my hand and said "how did it go?" and I burst into tears, and he turned my hand over and looked at the number and said, well that's ok! The clinic sent a text and said that 8 of the 9 were able to be injected. Tomorrow we'll get a call in the morning to advise of our fertilisation rate. I'm REALLY hoping that we have a good result. I know we're lucky that we started with 9, I know it only takes one, but I'm still scared. Transfer is slated for this Friday, but that may change. Take care of you and yours, Lelly xxx This post has been edited by LellyBelly: 23/04/2012, 11:05 PM |

Hi everyone,
Mish*J - How exciting for your cycle beginning! Glad that AF decided to do as she was told and show up at the right time. LellyBelly - Sorry you were disappointed with EPU but 9 is still a great result. Fingers crossed for you for a great fertilisation rate! GEH 77 - Glad you are keeping busy - best of luck for your blood test! Little. One - That sounds awful! Did they give you other options for sedation? I was given "twilight sedation" or something which to me basically felt just like a general as I was completely out to it but you wake up much quicker than a normal general....I can't believe they expect you to be awake for the whole thing that is terrible. I hope you can have something different this time xx Jazza L - Sounds like your cycle is moving along nicely. Babycuddler - Good luck for today!!! Let us know how you go. AFM - I am in the 2WW after a transfer last Friday. It hasn't been too bad so far I have just been trying very hard to keep busy and not think about it too much. Feeling a bit sick from the Crinone pessaries though! Hope everyone is doing ok xxx This post has been edited by wtp***81: 24/04/2012, 10:40 AM |

Hello Ladies,
Madalem: Good luck with your next cycle, do you feel better with your new clinic? wtp: 4 days down, 10 to go, you'll get there!!! AFM: "aarrgghhh" got an update this morning, only 4 fertilised, if we're talking percentages, last time we had a 75% fail rate, this time it's a 50% fail rate, so that IS an improvement. They haven't started dividing, so goodness knows what's going to happen there, and they're talking about taking the best 2 for ET on Friday. Quick Question: For those of you that are using Crinone, did you start it BEFORE or AFTER ET? I'm pretty sure last time I started AFTER but this time they want me to start 2 days before ET. I'm trying to breathe and think we only need 1 (or 2 for transfer) but it's discouraging. I WILL NOT play the "what if" game, and I'll wait to hear some more news from the clinic. I'm still scared though Have a fun and productive day Lelly x This post has been edited by LellyBelly: 24/04/2012, 11:14 AM |

Little One- no way babe-Temazepam is not good enough! That's a mild sleeping tablet that is not going not knock you out. You should speak to your clinic about a "hypnotic sedative". This is where you are put out of it to sleep but it's not a full general. The drug used is generally Propofol. The use of this drug requires an anaethsetist to be present. Surely your clinic has this as an option?
You have every right to be fearfull after last time-it sounds hideous! Ps I'm a Nurse so thought I could help you out. Jazza L |

Lelly - I started the Crinone after my ET, but I'm sure like everything else there are a million different ways each clinic does it! Fingers crossed that you have two lovely embies for transfer on Friday xx

Lelly - you take care of yourself, i'm thinking of you. I know it's a broken record but it only takes one or maybe two. You just look after yourself & get your mind ready for your transfer of one or two lovely embies by the weeks end
I started Crione I think at least one if not two nights before the transfer, so it sounds pretty spot on. WTP - great to hear about your transfer, you are a day behind me. Hope you aren't too sick on the Crione, I'm on pessaries this time & except for them being messy little mites all's well. AFM - less than a week to go but still nothing, I'm feeling relaxed & happy though I just think if it's meant to be it would probably be implanted by now & doing it's think & if it's not well no amount of worry will make it change. I've been busy & also we brought a new TV, a flat screen 55 inch! Yay we are so excited & I'm sure the last in the world to get a real big tv, for so long our funds have been directed towards IVF, so it was really nice to treat ourselves & make it about us (even though a baby is also about us) does that make sense? Anyway it's a lovely feeling, who knew watching the TV with your lovely was such fun Take care & look after yourselves, esp you Lelly girl! |
