Hi,
It's me being a worry wart again, but today the baby has been quiet. I know I get quiet days and days when she's more active but today I've just been more paranoid about it. I mean I've felt small movements, but nothing dramatic. Some days she has a good kick around. Yesterday she kicked me back after I poked her. I guess my question is whether this is normal at this stage to have quiet days? When should I start paying more attention to the movements? |

I would have thought 22 weeks is still early days to be feeling consistent movements so please don't worry too much if you can help it.
I was always advised to have an icy water and / or something sweet (mmmmm choccy) and lay down for a bit to get the little one hopping. Try the above and if you're still worried (which honestly you shouldn't be) phone your midwife and have a chat with them. I phoned our local public hospitals maternity unit a few times when worried, they were always really understanding |

Koobie I wasn't concerned with movement at 22 weeks, I didn't feel baby too much because I have an anterior placenta. Baby has now developed regular patterns of movement and is much more active than 22 weeks. If ur concerned I would ring ur hospital and see what they think.

Thank you both!
After I wrote this I felt the baby moving around while I was cooking dinner and then this morning she's very active - kicking me if I lie on the left side (she doesn't like that) and then hiccuping a lot. At first the movements freaked me out, now I miss them if I haven't felt them for a little while. haha. |

Iwas told a general rule of thumb is 10 kicks a day. If I feel its a quiet day I lie on the lounge and do slow calm breathing. Baby then moves around.
I would worry if I did that and after an hour still nothing. |
