Hello! I've been lurking in this BG in case I needed to join, and it is starting to look that way so I thought I'd say hi. Hi!

I've had 4 failed Clomid cycles (I only ovulated once), and I'm currently doing the longest ever Gonal cycle, up to day 29 of injections with no response. I have a very high AMH 157.5, and very polycystic ovaries, so this cycle has been a slow torturous process of increasing my dose by minute amounts to my current level 75iu, in an attempt to avoid over response. Today it was increased again as I've had no response aside from a 6mm lining, to 100iu per day. The current plan is this: up dose to 100iu for the next 3 days, another scan on Friday. If no response, raise it again, if a good response then continue to trigger and timed BDing, if an over response, convert this cycle to an IVF cycle, up dose, start antagonist to prevent ovulation while follies grow, and egg pick up maybe next week or early the week after. FS won't officially start the IVF cycle until the very last minute, because once you start you're up for the cancellation fees if it goes pear shaped. So, I'm in imbo at the moment. It's weird, I feel a bit overwhelmed by all this, despite just this morning being annoyed at how long it is all taking - we were looking at another 4 weeks minimum before EPU as it was going to be next cycle, now it could be next week…I suppose that's good.

We've had all our initial appointment with the IVF clinic, so we're cleared for treatment as it was the plan to do IVF next cycle if necessary.

I guess what I'm wondering is, has anyone else had this happen? Or ended up converting a OI cycle to IVF? Or any advice for a newbie (who feels like an oldie today)?

I am struggling to keep up with the thread

Last night was absolutely hilarious. We had to do our first injection, my husband was reading the pamphlet step by step. Then it was time to inject...... he was shaking prefusely and when I looked up at him, he was white as a ghost hahahaha poor thing. So i ended up doing it. It was fine original.gif I am starting another injection Friday, Saturday and Sunday which I may not give myself. I might get BIL to do it.

I have a scan on Monday and bloods and theatre is pencilled in for Friday! How scary.

They said they will try for day 4-5 transfer..... is this the norm?

I had a splitting headache last night, I asked if it was a side effect from puregon. She said no, but my estrogen is absolutely nothing. She said usually when people get periods its minimal but because mine is nothing I can really bad headaches! Explain thats why that happens every month. She said because of the puregon it might actually help!

Welcome Rosie. I have still been reading the Clomid area and seems like you have been having a rough time with not responding to the doseage! I hope it works. I think what your FS is doing is brilliant original.gif Sounds like a very flexible FS original.gif

Hi Ladies. I'll catch up on personals tomorrow when I have some free time.

Well had follow up bloods today. HCG has gone from 66 to 98. Totally floored me as I've been bleeding so much. I can't imagine this ending well but theres not really any more I can do at the moment! Nurse said not to get my hopes up as the level didn't double and my p4 was on the lower side. I assured her I wouldn't be getting my hopes up!

Well it looks like today is day 1 of our first FET cycle. Gee wixx it all ended so fast in the end. I thought it would be a few days yet but AF arrived this morning. 14 days since EPU.
Anybody know how long it takes progynova to make a nice lining for a FET? I start on day 5 is this normal?

Rosie - welcome - although I'm sure you've been frustrated through this long process there are some stories like yours that make me marvel at the stuff modern medicine can do. I have no advice as haven't been there, but big hugs and fingers crossed that this works out for you one way or the other!

romantic - our clinic counts EPU as day 0 too. But the clinic also says you should have a pregnancy test regardless of whether AF arrives. It's a blood test though so they may be looking for other hormone levels to guide what to do next cycle? Not sure...

Bwok - sounds promising!

STL - I don't know what normal or high results are, but my E2 was 3300 at day 5 and they reduced me from 125 Gonal F to 112.5. I definitely felt more bloated as the days went on but more noticeably the fatigue. I would be ok in the mornings (most days) but would crash in the afternoon.

NFP - sorry it didn't work out but glad to hear the FET is starting straight away. I haven't done FET so can't help with the medicine front.

Dolce - the clinic is advising to do a 5dt, which will be Saturday. Hope you enjoy the celebrations! Seems excellent timing...

Waiting - I'm doing accupuncture. My clinic says there isn't enough evidence to prove whether it helps or it doesn't but they believe it does. I figure even if it's a placebo, I'll take it! biggrin.gif At the very least it's a chance to lay quietly each week wink.gif It does get expensive around transfer, which they recommend one session before transfer, one straight after, and every second day until AF is due. They also recommend once a week during pregnancy but I think I'll give it up once we see

Allie - Sorry it didn't double, but is it somewhat encouraging that it rose? Fingers crossed for you anyway.

jessie - My FS said that they do 3 dt if there aren't many embryos as it is better for the embryo to grow inside us rather than in the clinic. But... those embryos that make it to 5 days are much more likely to be a successful transfer. So as long as you have a fair number of embryos, they will wait to 5 days. Not sure if this is standard at all clinics. It's funny how the injections are not nearly as bad as you think! But the EPU was worse than I expected. Sounded so straightforward, but I'm still in pain Although I hear that everyone is different and some people bounce back that afternoon. Hope you're one of them!

AFM - just waiting on today's update on my embryos and nursing my poor body...

Hi Ladies, I am reading everyone's but have been a little lost with the responses.

I picked up the Nasal Spray today, starting it next Wednesday, I asked the nurse today and she was very strict telling me all about it, I didn't know that it was to stop ovulation, so now I understand a little more, only ever done anatagonist cycle, so not sure what to expect now.

Amberspark My FN were also very firm about the timing of using Synarel particular as I was flying between the east and west coast we had to pick a time that was easy to maintain in both states.

Littlemiss hope your embies are going great.

NFP I think I was on it for about 15 days maybe less but I was told you get to the optimal thickness and then they can coast you on it for as long as they like.

Jessietroy Well done with your needles, good on your DH for having a try, mine won't at all, he refuses to do it. I have had to do them all even when camping with barely enough light to see.

AFM First jab for the year is done I picked up my meds I am on Gonal-F 225iui a review next week to see same as my last cycle so I won;t expect more then 3 lovely gret quality eggs.

Good luck Dolce, Amber and NFP with the start of your new cycles.

I have managed to give myself three injections in a row now. Starting Oragulatran tonight so I don't know how i will go with that. I might let my DP do it for a couple of days so I can get used to it before trying to jab myself.

I have my EPU pencilled in for next wed with ET hopefully the following Monday (providing I get some nice Blasts).

Gosh the down reg cycles sound quite full on. What is the idea behind doing it that way? Is it related to egg quality PCOS etc?

Bwok - how did your U/S go today? FX there were some nice looking follies there. Where are you in your cycle atm?

Best of luck to everyone else in the thread. It is sad to see some of the things people have had to go through on this journey but also helps to remind that we are not alone in this.

Has anyone who has been in this forum for a while seen any threads where the issue has been MF complete retrograde ejaculation? I would love to see some success stories from others in the same boat as us.
