I had a tubal at the same time as a c-section for baby number 7 - at my request - 9 years ago.
For a while all was good but after a while I got really really heavy periods lasting weeks. Major flooding but no pain. in 2011 I had an operation for a D & C and they also put the mirena in to help with the bad periods. Its much better now but the mirena is not what I wanted. sounds like bad periods are a big bad side affect for many. We werent told about the failure rate by the dr but by friends but thankfully we have had no failures! |

QUOTE I ended up with a hysterectomy 5 years later after all those years of extreme bleeding. Whether it was the TL or not I am not sure but it seems to be quite a coincidence. Hysterectomy due to heavy bleeding after a TL is so common. I don't understand why DRs dismiss the side affects. I was under the head OB at my hospital and even she said there are no side affects. She couldn't understand why I wouldn't get it done (I was over 40). I don't get it? I suffered for years from a hormonal imbalance that caused heavy beading, extremely painful AF and infertility (and other symptoms). Every time I got a period it was hell, I couldn't even eat I would be so sick. There is no way in hell I was having a TL and risk possibility getting side affects. |
