Im hoping somebody could help me with this?

I had a D&C 4 weeks ago after a m/c at 9 weeks... hcg around 9700.

I did a HPT today and had a faint faint faint positive. I thought I was ovulating this week, but then started getting very sore boobs.

Could it be residual hcg from miscarriage?

Thank you!

Hi OP i'm not sure of the answer but I'd be interested to know. Might be worth talking to your GP and getting a blood test and then another one a few days later to see what is happening? Or just wait it out...

I know that after my m/c at 7 weeks i was having blood tests done every 3-4 days for hcg monitoring to make sure that my levels got back to 0 and to make sure there was no retained product needing d&c.

As PP said, I would be asking for blood tests to make sure that your hcg is back to 0 or the positive on the hpt could be still residual from the m/c

good luck.

I had a D&C from 10 week m/c Nov 27th 2011 and got a BFP on Dec 25th.

It can happen wink.gif

ETA: I used cheapie preg tests every second day for two weeks to see when HCG was zero (it was over 45,000 at time of m/c Nov 27th) then by December 11th it was very very faint and Dec 13th it was negative.

I did a test as I was fainting, unwell, tired ect and before I ran off to the GP I thought I would do a preg test and it was positive much to my surprise. So based on my Due Date I ovulated Dec 15th.

countrychic29 I too had heaps of EWCM but I was still getting a faint positive on the FR early tests... So not sure what it meant... maybe it was just my hormones playing up but i've had the creamy CM ever since!

Hi everyone,

Ok so it turned out that I did in fact ovulate, with low trace or hcg left over from miscarriage.

I asked the doctor and said your body can ovulate with hcg,but the hcg would need to be quite low (around 10) for this to occur.

Hope this helps anyone else in the same position as me.
