Stop! Before you proceed, let me warn you now, this is a shameless plug! I want to let you in on a tried and tested way to make money, as well as announce the release of my third book, Give it a GO, what have you got to lose?.

Over the past year I have been madly working away on an in depth investigation into the direct selling industry, a tired and tested industry that provides anyone and everyone with an opportunity to make money.

When writing my second book I was luckily enough to be introduced to a lady who founded a successful direct selling company, her story sparked my interest. Before too long I found myself knee deep in interviews, I interviewed over 100 distributors from the industry, to get the low down on what it takes to truly succeed as a distributor. I was on a quest to discover the secrets behind the women, who’ve been able to start a business in direct selling, stay at home and help contribute to the family finances.

Essentially what I found from my exhaustive research is, there are huge opportunities offered by the industry to make money, change your lifestyle and enjoy many incredible incentives such as overseas trips, but…. The ones who enjoyed these amazing riches, all had something in common “attitude”. Those who wanted to succeed did very well indeed, because they had a reason for wanting to succeed. Some mums had sadly been left destitute when their partner walked out, some wanted extra money to be able to provide their children with a private education, others just wanted to pay off the damn mortgage…. The list went on. It became more than apparent successful distributors generally have a real reason that motivates them to want to achieve success.

As an advocate of financial independence, I felt compelled to write ‘Give it a GO’, for several reasons;

Direct selling is one of the few industries that offer the opportunity to earn passive income. Passive income is money you are entitled to without actually having to work for. Distributors can sign up customers to receive a regular shipment of products, and distributors will continue to receive a commission for future orders made to the customer without having to assert any further effort for the commission.

Direct selling provides the ultimate equal opportunity solution. Any one with the right attitude has the opportunity to do very well in the direct selling industry. Success in direct selling is not dependant on expertise, education, sex, religion or age. It is truly one of the only businesses where everyday people can attain their dreams of financial freedom. This is the purest form of equality through free enterprise.

Finally and most importantly you can start your own business with as little as $300. It is one of the few industries that allow anyone and every one the opportunity to start their own business and realise their entrepreneurial dreams with out enduring the huge start costs it generally takes to launch a small business. Best of all as a distributor you don’t have to worry about the marketing, quality control, inventory management and other cumbersome worries that can plague the typical small business owner – I can attest to that one!

Is direct selling for everyone, no certainly not otherwise we would all be doing it. For this reason I ensured Give it a Go is balanced and very objective. Amongst many other topics, I discuss the challenges you will face if you decide to become a distributor and how to overcome these hurdles. I also provide those interested in becoming distributors with the key questions they need to ask a potential direct selling company. Just as there are plenty of opportunities offered by the direct selling industry, there are just as many questions you need to ask and seek answers to, before signing up, you need to ensure this is the right opportunity for you.

I am left with little doubt, after more than 12 months of research, anyone can make money through direct selling, it is an industry that has been around for more than 30 years, outlasting recession after recession, but in end, the more important question is – 'Is direct selling for you?' Ths thread just opened up due to some lovely spam but it did leave me wondering. Sonia two years on have things been as profitable as you hoped? I mean in the direct selling not your book. How have women who have followed your ideas done? Are there some here on this site?
