Hi All,
Thought it would be a good idea to start a Victorian group. Might come in handy to compare shops, prices, Obs, Hospitals etc.
PS - I was told that Baby Bunting in Werribee is have a good sale on boxing day, might be a good time to make some of those big purchases!
cheers

Ill start,
Im due on the 8th of June, and planning to have my little one at Francis Perry House in the city.
Had my Ultrasound at WUME, and they were really good. Paid my $270 and then got another bill for $100 a week later. I decided to go private but didnt realise how much it would actually cost. Its already adding up quickly!
Had my Obs appointment with Dr Angie Lee at WOGs, she seems really nice and very professional which makes me feel really comfortable. seeing her again tomorrrow.
Hope to hear from some more local ladies!!!!
Cheers xox

Hi,
I'm Due June 15 and was also slugged by WUME. I'm also going private and the costs keep on coming! Its my first, so this is all 'new' to me.
I'm going to Freemasons and have a lovely obs, but wowsers! the cost! So much for paying for top insurance all those years - the government has a lot to answer with all the gaps.
On a brighter note was looking at prams on the weekend and can save quite a bit of $$$ by buying online from america. I live in Richmond and there are a few cute stores nearby, although I haven't found anything 'amazing' - do you know of anywhere super cool and super cute? - I have a car so can travel a bit if anyone knows anywhere.
BTW its so nice to be on this forum with other mums.

QUOTE (Kemma @ 12/12/2011, 03:36 PM) Hi all I'm 15w with no 2. We live in Point Cook and will be having baby on or around 2/6/12!! Although DD1 was due 02/06/10 but arrived fashionably early on 18/5!!
Going thru the midwife program at Werribee Mercy. Used a private OB there first time & although he was good I think the midwife program - which has a brilliant reputation - will be as good. Our DD is nearly 19mo now and as we had a CVS test we know we are having another baby girl. We couldn't be happier, but a lot of that is also based on a healthy baby so far. Touch wood.
I just bought a 'new' pram on eBay. My current one is not only broken but doesn't take a toddler seat which I'd like the option of. Also it came with bassinet attachment and sleeping bag insert. It's a valco. I'm totally stoked and hoping it's as good as it looked in the pics!!!
Great to have a local group to chat with. All the best for the next months. Kym

Hi, I'm not from Melbourne i'm from gippsland area south eastern suburbs. But i'm due 12th June.. 14 weeks today and have the first OB appt tomorrow. I have been looking at the strider plus 4 pram, but apparently it doesnt fit through a normal supermarket check out which would be very annoying. Alot of people have suggested a phil & ted's but I just dont like them. Hope everybody else has been feeling well.

Hi ladies,
I havent posted much recently as the main forum moves so quickly so this is lovely to chat with some local ladies.
My first bub is due on the 4th of June. We've recently moved from Elwood to Clayton (big lifestyle change) so I am going to Waverley Private. My aunty is a midwife there and recommended an amazing OBGYN there. Scott Pearce - he has been amazing and makes sure he calls me after every scan even when Im seeing him again shortly. Feeling well taken care of but the costs are really starting to add up. I cant wait to start making some big purchases like a pram, baby seat, nursery furniture! Thanks for the heads up about eh baby Bunting sale surfiechick78. I might have to check that out.
Its funny how Im now excited about buying baby bits and pieces in the sales rather than fashion items for me!

Hi girls I’m also due 12 June (so 14 weeks today too - same as you KimmyD) and I live in Oakleigh - so we're practically neighbours WoolyJumper. I’m going to Jesse Mac -but have had a few friends have babies at Waverley Private and they’ve had good experiences. I’ve also not posted much - mainly because I cant work out how to on the iPhone and I was too paranoid to access this site at work - fearing that someone is out there tracking my internet usage....paranoid I know!!! But now that I'vetold them i don’t care. Anyone else told work yet? My boss took it really well when i told him last week. Then the girl who works directly for me announced yesterday that she's also pregnant - due the same week as me! He also took thatwell - the he announced this morning that he's changing jobs! So no wonder why he took it all so well - he wont be here to worry about it all! Re prams - my sister and my friend both have the city mini and love it - very light and easy to get in and out of car and narrow. So i'll probably just get one of those too. My sister and her hubby did heaps of research into their purchases so I'll think i'll just leverage off their work and get a lot of what they have! Lazy... And yes - agree that this local group could be quite handy

Hi Guys,
This is my first aswell and it is weird, im usually shopping for clothes, kitchen stuff etc now I find myself spending hours in all the baby stores trying to reasearch what are the most practicle and cost effective thing to get. Im sure I will get spoiled as this little one is the first for the grandparents as well. Im so excited about going nuts at the sales and starting to set up a nursery.
Got my next scan on the 19th of Jan and the hubby and I have both decided that we are busting to find out if its a girl or a boy. Will start buying more then.
I have also been looking at prams. Mostly the Strider Plus - apparently so many ladies swaer by it but the only thing is it is a little bit wide. It fits through a normal doorway but a bit wide for checkouts at the shops, I was told you can lift it a lettle and get through easily enought. Apparently the capsule that fits in it and goes in teh car is a god send for not waking up the baby when you move them from one to the other.
There is so many different ones - how are you supposed to decide???
Anyway, im from Ocean Grove but am living in Werribee due to work commitments at the airport. Will be moving back to the beach when the little one is born! Cant wait to bring up the little one by the beach!
Hope everyone is well.
