We like to go on trips away, but sometimes this can be challenging. When we flew to the Gold Coast I packed some snacks then went shopping once there. It was 1.5 hours on a plane, leaving after breakfast, so I packed morning tea and bought a drink on the plane. Coming back we took the train and had a sleeper so taking sufficient food on the train was easy.

But what about travelling 5+ hours by car each way and visiting smaller towns? How do you manage those trips if you have a child on a restricted diet?

i always google my butt off before i go to find as many places as possible we can eat at. usually there end up being more than you can find online but you don't want to have to go hunting when you're hungry.

i do pack heaps of spare food too - the kind that is fresh until opened so you can bring it home again if not used. even when we went to Fiji and when we go camping i take a bag or box full of safe snacks and quick easy meals just in case.
