The backstory...
Last March, I decided to go back to work after DS as we needed some more income and I needed an activity away from the kids. Fast forward to a year later (now working 4 days a week with the same company) and the stress of the long days for me and the children and the pressures of being a working mum have finally gotten to me. And I am looking at leaving my job and looking for a part time job, on the weekends or in the evenings. So....... I want to apply to Woorthworths to do Night Fill again, as I think this would be a good option due to the lack of impact on my kids. But I feel that I should address me turning down the postion a year ago (after accepting it) in the application letter. But how? NB - I did not actually start work at Woolworths or undertake any training. |

To be honest I wouldn't even worry about addressing it. Chances are that someone totally different will be assessing the application, or even if it is the same person, they won't remember.
I think if you try and address it, it will only flag that you have turned them down once before and you are less likely to be offered the job. |

I don't think you need to address this at all. Circumstances change and it's possible that no one even knows about your previous application.
A year is a long time in high turnover industries. |

I'll be honest, your details from last year will still be in the database, and it will show that you were offered a position you then declined. That said, it's not like you declined the position because centrelink would cut you off if you took it IYKWIM. I would leave it out of the application, and if it comes up at Group assessment / interview stage, then give your reasons.

Thanks all.
I have not mentioned it on the application. I will be happy to explain in the interview if it comes up. |

Did you apply online, or are you applying in person at a store?
