Did anyone use a after birth belly wrap?
If so, - what brand I'd you buy? - were you happy with it/ do you think it helped? - would you use one again? Thanks |

First time around I tried the "mothertucker". It was rubbish as it kept rolling upwards (well, my saggy belly kept helping it roll up). So I stopped using it.
Second time around I used the belly bandit. I said you could use it straight away and although it wasn't pressing on my c/s scar, it pushed the flab onto it which was uncomfortable. I stopped using it for a while and resumed when the scar was better. It did help as it makes you hold your gut in. Sadly doesn't do anything for the flabby skin or saggy boobs....... |

I used the src recovery shorts from about 1 week post birth (had emergency CS and it hurt too much to put the on initially)
I found the compression on my scar felt good, but ds was born in nov and I found them very hot, and difficult to manage maternity pads under them. Also I wanted to wear shorts, but they were too long. If src did a version that was more like boy leg length I think that would be more useful for a summer babe. But for winter I think I'd get more use out of them. In the end I only wore them for about 2 weeks, then went to Kmart and bought boy leg tummy control undies, for the reasons above. But I do think the shorts did the job, just more suited to winter babies though. |

- what brand I'd you buy? Vespa and the Ladybird. Like a Belly Bandit but cheaper
- were you happy with it/ do you think it helped? Also had a tendency to roll and was visible except under quite loose clothes, but definitely helped flatten tummy quickly and support back and abdominal muscles - would you use one again? Absolutely. Would consider investing more in something like the recovery shorts though, now that I know it's not just a gimmick and they really do help I had a c/s so didn't start wearing it until one week post delivery too, I felt too sore to start straight away. That didn't seem to make a difference though. I wore it until 5 weeks post partum then switched to my pre pregnancy control underwear |

I did after DD1 and loved it (Belly Bandit). This time around the physio gave me a tubigrip and it is 10x better, way more comfortable and just as much support.

I had a Vespa and the Ladybird wrap but wore it only once. It was too hot and uncomfortable for me. I ended up having a caesar, so perhaps that has something to do with it, but I'm also quite small and I think the wrap was too big and bulky.
