Make sure they have a soft flexible sole for the first 6 weeks, pre walkers are still great during this time. Only put them on when outside, make sure your child does as much bare feet walking as possible during the early stages.

Thanks heaps everyone , i got her a pair of baby paws and they are great , but the speeds she can get upto now that outside isn't as prickly aren't as fun for me lol

http://shop.kidwhisperer.com.au/footwear/ I bought a pair for my daughter as they were having 15% off and was pleasantly surprised at the soft feel and sturdy quality. Way better than the Made-In-China dross that most others stock.
