Can't believe my baby girl is 1!
No for both DD1 and DD2. DD2 is 3.6 years old and depending on the shoes will still need help. Sometimes they are on the wrong feet or she can't get the strap though the buckle part. Today she couldn't get her shoes on because she was getting the tongue part caught. DD has good fine motor skills.

I personally would expect that a 2 year old might have some difficulties putting shoes on.

My DS 22 months can put his own shoes on - not on the right feet though wink.gif But give him socks to either put on or take off and he's completely useless...

Every child learns new things in there own time - my nearly 4 year old nephew has only recently started dressing himself - we finally worked out that it was pure laziness, he knew exactly what to do - he just couldn't be bothered.

As PP's have said, if its only getting dressed (shoes included) that he's having problems with then I wouldn't be overly concerned, as long as he is doing most other things at a good rate.

DD 2years 4months can do her own shoes and sandals but not socks. She has been able to since just before 2, but she was my earliest one to do it.

DS - 2 years 3 months has no idea. Largely due to the fact I am so terrible making him wear things or shoes. Only time he wears thongs is maybe if we go to the shops. Socks and shoes only if we are going out maybe at night....
Not a fan of shoes on him at the playground, beach, backyard or at daycare. It's much safer for them to learn new gross motor skills without shoes.

DD is 3 in May and has been putting her shoes on herself since she was 2. If I even try to help her she spits it!

DD3 is just turned 2 and can put shoes on and my socks. (havent tried with hers as there has been no need yet). She can also dress and undress herself.
90% of the time her shoes are on the correct feet and she will swap them if I tell her they are wrong.
She was however my slowest walker at 12 months, but rocketed along to clibing ladders and stairs by 15 months. Her talking however has only made progress in the last few months. (only learnt to say "d" and "dad" the day before her 2nd birthday).
Personally I wouldnt worry too much about shoes and socks. Once they "get it", they will power ahead.

DS is 3 in July and can manage crocs. He can't do his other shoes. He is always in too much of a hurry to worry much about clothing and shoes wink.gif . DS is quite good at taking things off tho...
I know several of his friends that are the same age cannot do their own shoes either.

DD (2.7) can only put on her gumboots or slippers, can't do up shoes. She can undo them and take them off, though.

She can't dress/undress at all yet. Now I'm thinking she's behind unsure.gif
