I had this on my list last time, I like it pronounced My-a, not May-a. What do you think?
Maia Isobel?? We are struggling big time with names this time! Can't agree on anything! |

its quite a pretty name...NMS but I can see why you like it. You'll just have to get used to saying "its my-a not may-a ' for the rest of yours and your DDs life! if you can deal with than then go for it. Not sure of any alternative spellings....

Yes, that's why I was unsure of it last time. I know of a couple of Maya's pronounced May-a, but no Maia's. |

I prefer Maya, which I also pronounce as My-a, but then I'm definitely in the minority in Australia at least! Maia Isobel is nice.

I like it. I much prefer the Maia spelling and pronunciation (My-a). I would only pronounce Maya as may-a.

My DS has a crush on a little girl in his class called Maia.
I think it's a lovely name. Nobody has ever had trouble pronouncing it. |

I love Maya (pronounced May-a!) but I'm obviously biased
I agree that most people would presume it is pronounced the same way as my little girls name, but if that doesn't bother you then go for it. I think Maia is a beautiful name pronounced either way! |

I also read it as May-a, so you may find that you will have to correct people.
