Ds is 9 months old and still breastfeeding about 3-4 times a day and udually about 2-3 times overnight. Since yesterday I have had a pain in my left breast, it is there constantly and is tender to the touch, there is a little bit of extra pain when feeding but not excruciating. Also yesterday afternoon/evening I had severe chills (think curled up in bed with electric blanket on but still absolutely freezing) and low grade fever (38.0). Woke up this morning pretty good but as the day is going on I am feeling hot and cold and bad headache.

Anyway I'm thinking possibly mastitis but from what I have googled it seems pain is usually a hell of a lot worse than what I'm feeling? I also don't feel a lump, just a painful area iykwim?

So if you have had mastitis do you think that is probably what is up with me or maybe I just have cold/flu??

I would be very suspicious of mastitis, yes. Mastitis does not always involve a lump initially. I would be going to the GP.

When dd was 2 months old- I had what I thought was a hair follicle type thing on my right breast- I wasn't suck no temp felt fine. 3 days later was in a lot of pain, saw dr and they prescribed antibiotics for mastitis- it turned into an abscess no word of a lie- the size of a golf ball- I was 24hrs off hospitalisation and it burst on its own- worse pain than a drug free labour! My advice is even though your not unwell you should see a dr to be sure- I didn't even have headaches anything.
