Hi everyone I have been so inspired by this thread and I bit the bullet and got some PHI. I'll have to wait out the 12 months waiting period but I feel like I've made the decision and I'm on my way. I'm in Perth (inner west) and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good doctor with rough out-of-pocket costs. Hospital-wise I'm thinking of Hollywood or St John of God Subi. Many thanks.

bellygood, I'm very energetic! Though, that being said I have to be careful, if I get busy and too stressed - I forget to eat properly and I tire. It rarely happens these days though. Diet is important. 5 - 6 small meals a day and vitamins. I also take protein shakes after a work out and have been upping them to 2 a day. I feel great the better I eat, the more I exercise and the less booze I drink!

Yesterday was my six month sleevarsy. I'm down 38 kilos. 11 kilos to go. Best thing I have ever done. Still finding I'm eating too much crap. I snack a lot of bad foods How's everyone else doing?

To victory, it feels unfamiliar but it tastes like chicken
I haven't had a band but there are a lot of people who have the band out to get the sleeve. My one friend who has the band has very frequent vomiting years later and still can't eat a lot of things. I had the sleeve 2.5 months ago. I've lost 30kg and can eat whatever I like.

I would love some advice please! I am overweight (BMI 37) but 'healthy', if that's possible - I haven't been to a doctor in the 5 years that I've been in Australia. I have taken out PHI and I need to get a referral in order to make an appointment with a surgeon for the sleeve. Is it ok to just rock up to any doctor and ask for a referral? Is it likely that they'll give me one? Are there any hoops that I need to jump through in order to get the referral? Thanks

I just wanted to share - I am 26kg down and I am so stoked. I have bought my first pair of size 10 3/4 jeans in like forever. If anyone is thinking about this surgery - it is so worth it.

Can anyone give me an indication of the amount of food you can eat in one go? Also if you eat to much does it make you vomit?
