I bought a little soft mat for $2.80 the other day to use as a change mat when we're out and about. Because this is #3 we already have all the standard baby "equipment" and lots of toys and clothes. We will only have one big purchase with this baby - a car that can fit 3 carseats!

With #1 I bought a tiny toy lion at Ikea when I'd just found out I was pregnant. I liked having something physical I could hold when I thought about the tiny baby inside me. I had a A4 size box that was my "baby box" and I put the occasional small item in it - a bib, a couple of other little toys, a book. I didn't want to buy anything big until much later, when I felt totally secure about the pregnancy.

When I found out about #2, I bought a baby Miffy soft toy.

What have you bought for this baby? Are you planning big purchases yet, or have you bought any small, sentimental items?

If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart!
The only thing we will really need for this baby is a new car seat... they are only meant to be used for 10 years and our oldest child is 9 so I'm not going to risk it. A lot has changed in car seat technology in the last 10 years.
I have picked which one I'll buy, but I haven't bought it yet.

I usually do the same as you and buy something small for the baby. I haven't come across anything yet but maybe the kids can help me pick something out once we've told them.

Other than that we will get baby some new clothes and stuff after s/he is born. I have both pink and blue baby clothes to hand down but I like each baby to have a few new things too.

We found out with our other two that we were having a girl. So everything we own is PINK!!

This bubba is going to be a suprise, So OMG yes its insane, but on thursday i bought

2 x grey wondersuits
4 x white wondersuits
3 x yellow wondersuits
3x little body suits (grey, green, cream)
4 x beanies
10 singlets
A baby swing (same as this) http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/childcare-...swing-n-bounce/ (it rocks the bub like we would, its really rellay cool - i looked the demo)

This baby will need everything again.
Ou little on will most likely still be in her cot. So this bub will go in a bassinet (which is good because bubs room will be upstairs, so at least while she is new and not a great sleeper she will be down near me)

A new pram. We just got rid of our strider plus - wont be getting one again.. Just a small one this time, it was TOO BIG!

A capsual... and probably a new car... we just bought a 2011 kia cerato, but not certain it will fir 3 car seats for my kids ages 3 and under.

I havent' bought anyting... YET! I know it is far too early, but i am very tempted to go sopping this arvo & buy a little wondersuit or something... Just to make it feel a bit more real.

As this is our first bubby we will need to buy everything, so many choices.

This is our first too! It doesn't feel real yet - I am only 4 weeks along and it seems strange to buy something for baby, though of course I would love to. When do you guys think it will kick in and seem real? I had a GP appointment yesterday and will be calling to book in an OB on Monday but it just feels so surreal and as if I am arranging these things for someone else not me!! Perhaps buying something will flick the light bulb on?!

I had already been buying little bits and pieces before our BFP. So I already have a few clothes and a couple toys. Hubby only knows of one onesie which I gave to him in a gift bag with my positive test. The onesie I ordered online and it said Daddys little (insert daddys nickname). Was very very cute!! I'm so itching to go shopping but want to know that everything is progressing well. Have no idea at this point if we'll find out bubs gender. I'm very torn on the matter.

CAMS you sound like me lol... hubby didnt know about some stuff i had been buying, then out came the BFP along with many things i had hidden around the place hehe.. He just thought it was funny...

Its a very personal matter about finding out or not... We found out with our first 2... And was so excited to... It meant we had all the little pink things ready to go...

But this time i knew (from before we even found out) that we would have a suprise... Its out last... I know i would love to know... but id rather just wait it out...

I just know there is very few "real "suprises in life... And this is going to be the only one i ever get original.gif

Stevie

Oh and Cams if it helps, i think that white wondersuits are adorable, and look perfect on boy or girl... i still have my little girsl white wondersuits... original.gif

Certainly doesn't feel real Jemiesmum (it's Leah isn't it?). I'm not sure when it will feel real. Maybe when the dr confirms it, or maybe when/if MS kicks in. Have been feeling nauseaus, tired & got sore boobs, particularly my nipples, so it does feel a little real.

I dunno, maybe it won't feel really real until i actually feel bubby move... Or maybe when we first see an ultrasound...

We both agreed Thurs night that we're not gonna find out. Who cares if we can't buy pink or blue? We'll have plenty of time to do that once bubby is here.

Interesting that you've had some nausea, soreness etc and we are both around 4 weeks. Not sure when/if mine will kick in. I agree that would make it feel more real.
