Hi ladies,

I just got my BFP yesterday...
Am going to my GP today to get a referral for a BT for tomorrow.

My previous cycle I had a chemical pregnancy.
So am quite anxious and nervous that everything goes ok this time around.
The chem preg was detected as my HCG levels were decreasing..

I have a few questions:
  • How many Blood tests should I ask for?
  • What should I ask my GP to check for in the BT .. I am thinking HCG, Progesterone, Vitamin D
  • When should I go in for an ultrasound.. I would want to do one as soon as possible just to make sure everything is ok?
  • When should I book in an appointment with my OB?

Is there anything else I need to do?
I am 4 weeks and 1 day at the moment...

Because everyone else has one...
I'm not stalking you, I promise!!! tongue.gif

This time my GP sent me for two HCG's a week apart. It would've been nice I guess to have one in between, but it also meant that I got to see a significant rise over 7 days.

My first MC he'd tested iron, vitamin D, measles etc (full blood test) so he didn't worry about it this time because it was June I'd had the tests.

One doctor I saw when I couldn't get into my own with the first MC said he doesn't send his patients until at least 8w so they don't worry if there's no heartbeat right on 6 weeks. My doctor knows I'm anxious after 2 recent MC's, so he said to go any time from 3 weeks after I got the BFP (so I'll be 6w+). I think I'd wait until then anyway because there's no point worrying if you don't see a heartbeat because you went too early.

Once we've done the scan my doctor will no doubt collate everything and give me the referral then, as that's what he was going to do with the first MC. It might be different where you are, but at the hospital I want to go to there's no real rush (semi-rural hospital). Some might give you the referral straight away though if there's a wait to get in.

LOL! I wouldn't mind even if you were stalking me original.gif

I am thinking of getting a HCG on Wednesday and then one on Monday.. followed by Wednesday.. I want to get all of them done by next Wednesday as that's when we plan to tell DH's parents if all goes well... Thursday I fly up to Sydney to spend a week with my folks and I plan to tell them face to face on Friday... so yeah..will ask my GP..

The last cycle I had low Vit D...so have been taking supplements since so hopefully it will be ok now... Also want to check my progesterone levels and ensure that's ok as I have been taking Progesterone pessaries..

I already have an FS that I have been going to...but he's quite expensive as an Obstetrician so am thinking of going with another OB... but worried as I might not be able to get an earlier appointment with the other OB since he doesnt know my history. My FS did say that when I get PG, to call and then I can come in for a 6 week scan... but if I do that, does that mean, that i have to take him as my OB?

I'd just ask your GP for your scan referral. Mine is giving me mine. Then everything will be handed across to the OB after that's done. Then you also don't have to pay for an OB appointment if you don't need it! The scan itself I will be out of pocket $100 for, so I'm assuming that's a standard price.
