Hi everyone...

I just had surgery on Wed for my ectopic pregnancy. I lost the right tube.

Yesterday I started bleeding, very lightly with bad cramping. Today the bleeding is really heavy but only slight cramping.
I was wondering how long, heavy etc others have bled for after surgery?

I have also had a bit of clotting and I have noticed the blood is a real bright red, not a dark deep red like a normal cycle. I am assuming this is the shedding bleed they told me I would get once my hcg starts to drop.

I don't have my follow up appt until April 16th so just really not sure what is 'normal' etc..

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. I had an undiagnosed ectopic rupture at ten weeks, almost a year ago now. I started bleeding about 36 hours after the surgery, much like a period, crampy and heavy for a few days, then lightened up and stopped after about 8 or 9 days. Hope you are coping ok, take care of yourself.

I spoke to the doctor about it today and he said that if its still heavy in 7 days that further investigation would need to be done, so I will just keep an eye on it.
