I love my girls
Hi,
my 8mth old DD has just started to crawl and as we have marble floors throughout our lounge room I dread how her knees are going to fare. I can hear the squeak of her skin against the floor with every movement, poor little petal. We live in a very hot/humid climate so I can't just put her in long pants all the time. I'm looking for some knee protectors or something similar that are light weight.

Can anyone help?

You can get these: http://www.amazon.com/Snazzy-Baby-Knee-Sea...n/dp/B000ML34KK

http://www.amazon.com/Safety-1st-Cushioned...s/dp/B000SOUCQA

http://www.babybumpers.com.au/

http://www.babykneez.ca/

http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/produc...roductId=537377

But personally I think that's taking it too far. Their knees are usually fine. None of mine ever had a drama from crawling.

Baby stores sell a type of leg warmer which fits the purpose. I forget the name though. They are like socks without feet in them basically.
But they do get used to it and can crawl over all sorts of terrain if they want. Our floors are pretty hard and never had an issue.

As Howdo said, babies have been crawling on hard floors for centuries and most manage just fine.

I love my girls
thanks ladies.

I was thinking of something of sock weight to go over her knees. The snazzy baby ones are cute but probably too thick and too much of a hassle.

For my middle DD I was given a pair of really light weight leg warmers. I think my friend bought them off eBay but I can't find them.

You can actually buy knee pads from baby stores for this purpose, or you could try making your own by cutting socks down or similar.

I wouldn't really worry about it though...it doesn't hurt them when they crawl like it would hurt us because their kneecaps aren't yet developed.
