Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but am wondering where people think is the best place to get nursery furniture?? We will be looking at starting to furnish the nursery in a few weeks and unsure of where would be the best place to start.

Depends where you are located as to what will be available, but I started with Babies R Us and Baby Bunting (vic) as 2 stores with large ranges of everything. Also worth looking at Target / BigW. There are also some large independents that have great ranges - Baby Train (Moorabbin), Baby Kingdom (Sydney) - even if they aren't local you can check out their ranges online.
Have fun!

We started shopping on the weekend - so exciting!

We went to Parenthood in Richmond (Vic) and I liked it because they just had a selection of products - not everything under the sun like some of the larger stores.

I found the larger stores a bit overwhelming and there was a lot of crap to sort through!

Other posters might be able to help as to whether there is something similar to Parenthood in WA?

For our first we got the whole lot from baby co, cost us a fortune and ended up updating three years later with a ikea. For number two we went with ikea from the start.

Gum tree and eBay. Why spend a fortune on stuff they only need for a short time? I got a boori cot for $200 on gumtree, great condition. Brand new would have been a lot more.

The only 'nursery' furniture I got is the cot, which came from target. The other furniture in the room is from a regular furniture shop which we will keep using long after baby is out of a nursery

We went to Choice and looked at their recommendations for baby furniture ie cots. Then we searched the best prices for those products.
