Definitely a Too Much Information topic...........

but Im going to ask anyway...


I have a small hard lump (the size of a pea) on one of my errrr Labia Majora (ok so I had to google the proper name to stop me writing down fanny flaps )

I have booked in to a doctor but cant get in for two weeks as I wanted to see a female doc instead of a male as it is a delicate topic.

Do you think its likely to be a small cyst or something else? anyone had something similar before?

I have one too.
The GP said it was an enlarged lymph node, nothing to worry about.

There are some glands called Bartholins glands that can form cysts. Sometimes they are painless but they can become infected and very painful. They are mainly in the labia minora area though.

I used to get them sometimes when I was riding 8 hours a day.

On the outer labia you may find that it is an infected hair follicle or a painless cyst that may burst on its own.

Probably just a harmless cyst, but always best to go to your GP to get it checked out. I have recently had the same problem (I'm pregnant with twins and the increased hormones are not helping!). My GP told me to go and get some antiseptic wash (I think Chlorahexane or something? - it comes in a pump pack and is bright pink). Using that has cleared out the cyst and also stopped me from getting anymore. Could be something to try while you are waiting for your appointment. The wash was not expensive (<$10).

Is it sore OP? I had a blocked duct, it was very tender. My Dr had a look, and told me to put a hot flannel on it, or soak in the bath and then try to give it squeeze. Ouch and yuck.

As it happened, it popped by itself in the bath without much coaxing... I think it came back once, months later.

I don't think it would be a good idea to squeeze something if you're not sure what it is though, this is only my experience!

It is inflamed? I had one there once, which started off as hard-feeling tissue, and ended up feeling very hot and red and sore and got so bad I couldn't walk without extreme pain. It was a blocked duct or something... some anti-biotics cleared it up.

i had a cyst on my labia which ended up getting infected and made the whole area swollen and painful. after being examined by the gp and 2 nurses, i was given anti biotics to treat it. i was fine after a couple of days, just had to wear granny undies so they didnt rub
