I am almost 38 weeks, so am now constantly on the lookout for labour signs. With DS, my waters broke (at 39 weeks) and then contractions started about 8 hours later, I had no sign prior to this that anything was going to happen.

Last night and this morning I had loose bowel movements, and its the first time in my life I was excited about that I haven't been feeling sick. I've also been getting some pain low down, although it feels like it could be ligament pain because it seems to only really be on one side.

Anyway, so I'm questioning whether labour will be here soon or whether this is just normal third trimester stuff and I'm getting carried away Did you have any signs that labour was imminent - even some you didn't recognise until after the fact?

Yes, definitely bowel pain and feeling tender and sore in my lower back and upper legs. In fact, it became so uncomfortable that I had to lie down and that was about a day before I went into labour. Good luck!!

DD1- Yes, a few BH, lower backache, Bloody show

DD2- 3 days before i had (TMI) loose bowl movements apart from that nothing. I didn't notice any BH, no dull aches or pains certainly no backache like with DD1.

I went from literally asleep to jumping out of bed in full on labour. Just made it to the front doors of the hospital when DD's head started to crown. Estimate labour just over an hour. She arrived right on 38 weeks.

Yes. With DD about 8 hours before my waters broke, i felt really ill.

It was like i was in a fog, and i couldn't stand up. I also had an off stomach.

BHs with increasing intensity, pressure 'down there' and lots of poos! Biggest sign was nesting like crazy, and the day before I gave birth I had a really bright red bloody show. I *knew* a few days beforehand that he was coming a bit early (38 weeks) and got the house ready. I was doing dishes when I realised I was in labour. Haven't hardly done a lick of housework since

when you wake up after a fairly uneventful night's sleep, and are sitting up on the bed chatting and laughing and decide to get up and SPOLOSH there go your waters and WHACK there's a contraction right there in the doorway before you even get to the ensuite, you're telling your husband to get the midwife and 27mins later you're holding your baby. LOL (#3)

prelabour was present by #3 and was also very present for #5.

#1 was textbook in start to duration. show/contractions etc
#2 was water trickle and after that he took his sweet time deciding to be 'in' labour.
#5 was a show after a S&S (which I'd never had before). Once I saw the 'show' the contractions were on and he was here not long after that.
