So i just thought I would post an update and thank everyone for their input and advice.

Soooo i made a half hearted attempt to put DS to bed with no wrap, could not even get close to settling him and I just decided I didnt have it in me to make the transition. We have had a crazy 2 mths with an interstate move, sleep regression at 4mths which after a lot of hard work I got him back sleeping and DD who has turned into a monster in the last 2 weeks and takes up all my energy. I decided i could not function with sleepless nights soooooo wrapped him up and off to sleep!

Next day googled until i found nearby stockits of the Ergo Cocoon (1st choice due to price and the buttons on the arms to transition) and a Woombie. Couldnt get the Ergo in the size I needed but found a Woombie and he slept in it last night. Initially a bit longer to settle due to position of arms but down by 8pm, grizzle at 930pm and then slept right through to 5am. Yah! Sooooo easy. Love it and he looks so cute in it. So thanks everyone. I will probably only use it for a short while and do the transition soon but for now we are all happy, $40 well spent. biggrin.gif

I used the ergo transition wrap. One week with one arm out - day and night and then one week with both arms out but still the snugness of the "wrap" and now DD sleeps in a sleeping bag. She did knock her dummy out but then again she was doing that anyway! She was around 4 months and I weaned her because she was getting too small for the wraps and I knew I would need to be doing it soon anyway so weaned her rather than buying more that she would only use for a short while.
