I am 39+5 and am having my 40 week appointment at lunchtime today. Last appointment the midwife said if I am comfortable with it they would do a strip and sweep.
Should I or shouldn't I? Both my mothers pregnancies went overdue, I have had no health issues, my sciatic pains stopped a month ago, have not had excessive weight gain and am not by any means uncomfortable. I have actually still been going to my course up until this point (on the other side of Sydney) and would probably still go on Monday and Tuesday if I have not popped by then. Also next week there is a big event in the city that I have been invited to go to, it goes all week and I can go at any time and I am pretty excited about it even if I can not take part of the open bar this year. So knowing this would you actively try and start labour? |
