Hi Scrambled Eggs, All girls here have low ovarian reserve so you are in the right place for some answers. Hope we can help you with your journey.

Magenta - hope you are going OK. I'd love to say I have some way of helping make your decision with the frozen one but at the moment I think I'd be just as qualified to say throw a coin and do heads or tails!

Ellik - I'll have what your having! Amazing results. Would love to hear if you get some more feedback re the results changing so much.

PCM - Best of luck! Hope you get some frosties.

Kels - Thinking of you, are you still in the game?

Unfortunately I'm out for the month. Started to suspect on Sunday morning that something had changed and peed on a stick on the Monday. There was the faintest of faint lines but period started to arrive on Monday evening and in full swing today. Must say as this is my first full cycle that I am shocked at the ummm volume! Is it common to have a heavy period post transfer??

All OK emotionally but I knew I was not signing up for 1 month, its going to be a long process. So a month off now and we will obviously give the 'natural' way a go but if no luck there then back on the stimming band wagon in May.

Hope you've all had a great weekend.

Hi there,

I am seeing a FS next month, but decided to find support before the appointment.

We have been TTC since Aug last year, we had a MC (blighted ovum) in May 2011 and decided to wait 3 months before trying again. We have a DS who is 2.

I got my day 3 bloods today, and thanks to Dr Google, have diagnosed myself sad.gif

Prolactin 6 ug/L
LH 8 U/L
FSH 16 U/L
Oestraiol 90 pmol/L
Progesterone 2 nmol/L

I know that you are not supposed to look at one hormone on its own, but look at the overall picture, but i can't help be drawn to the high FSH level...

16 is still within normal range, but according to google, 13-20 beens low ovarian reserve and the eggs are very hard to stimulate.

Can anyone help me out with my results, are they as bad as i think? I think the Oestradiol is a bit higher than what is ideal (i think 80 is where it should be, or even less).

I would really be so grateful if anyone could shed some light before my appointment in 4 weeks (it is going to drive me crazy until then).

I have also read that there is nothing you can do to lower FSH as it is reflection on your egg quality which is what you received at birth. Is this true, or can acupuncture, herbs, diet etc help with the remaining egg qualities? Is there any hormone drug that can assist with TTC?

Thank you

Proud BFAR mum 12 months!
Bex - sorry to see you here, I have PM'd you.

Hi Scrambled eggs - I'm new in here also, at 32 I have an AMH of 2.5 and high FSH as well as an ovarian haemorrhagic cyst just to complicate things. I had a DD only 2 years ago and it was so simple! You're in the right place anyway, we are all gonna work through this together. I've done heaps of reading (online and real books) and learned that you have to be your own advocate. I am becoming much more assertive with Drs and other health professionals already. I'm also doing things to try and get my FSH lower so I can at least do IVF. Never dreamed I would have to do that at my age. I know it's devastating to find it out but a few months on I'm doing OK and feeling more positive about things.

PM me if you like (thats private message, just click on my name and send message). If I can say one thing, make sure you talk to lots of people and don't believe anything one Dr says. Go to 2 FS, Chinese Dr, naturopath etc, they all have different explanations and opinions and treatments.

OK DP is hassling me to watch Game of Thrones new season.

Ciao ciao!!

Hi ladies,

spottedcat, so sorry that this round did not work, or it may almost worked from the faintest line you have seen. Have a good break and dont give up. I do get heavier AF right after a failed cycle. All the FSH and P4 we give our bodies would really thicken up the lining so it is normal to get a heavier AF.

Hi Bex18, I am 38 and got my BFP on the 4th cycle in Jan. My day 3 FSH was 17 last May which shocked me. It was out of range for my age. But when tested another month it went down to 9. I would say we cannot depend on FSH reliably. And yes you are right that we need to look at E2 : LH ratio on day 3 too. For your age, you should be able to find the acceptable range on your BT results. Some FS look at FSH too much and stop patients from doing IVF if it is high. My FS doesnt care much about FSH. And it does fluctuates month to month so dont let that affect you too much. I tried TCM and Accupuncture but I am not sure if that helped me with my FSH cos I didnt have it checked. If you enjoy accu, then it is something you can consider. Some people love accu, I dont and had to endure it. I did not do accu for the cycle I got my BFP. Some of us discuss taking coQ10, fish oil, vit D to help egg reserve. I always feel that antioxidant such as vit C and E are useful. Did you do AMH test for ovarian reserve?

Scrambledeggs, I took royal jelly during IVF. For DHEA i was very hesitant and took it for about 1.5months on and off before and during my last IVF cycle. I am really not sure if it helped with getting us a BFP honestly. It can be so many many things.

Bellefin, totally agree about being your own advocate in this. That is my motto because ultimately we the patients are the ones who want it to work more than our drs and fns who are really earning the big bucks from us. Having said that of cos there are really dedicated drs just that I have NOT met one in these few years of TTC. The only one whom I reallly really can thank is my GP who called for tests when we went to her having no success with natural pregnancy.

Waiting, it has been hard on you. All the best for your scan today.

Hi to everyone else I have missed. Hope you are travelling well.

Hi ladies - thank you so much for your extra support over the last few weeks!

As suspected our scan today revealed one very sad looking sac which is starting to collapse on itself. I still have no miscarriage symptoms but have elected to just let nature do its thing even though it may mean still waiting for weeks. I just couldn't bear the thought of any more procedures and FS said that while D&C was certainly an option and my choice it wasn't really necessary at this early point in a pregnancy.

We have two frosties and will be using one of them when possible, probably in around 6 weeks. I felt quite prepared for today but think I am actually just a bit numb to all of this. I am glad to know that this happened pretty much straight away after implantation so it just clearly wasn't meant to go anywhere.

I think I am going to go and have a big glass of wine!

Waiting...

bbighug.gif I am so sorry to hear your news today.

Expecting the news makes it a little easier to a point but it's not just fair.

Take care of yourself and fingers crossed for you for 6 weeks' time.

PS - enjoy that wine!

Hi there everyone,

Sorry to butt in to your buddy group, but I know you girls will be able to help me.

I have just started the AC journey and my AMH test results have come back at 7.2. I am 40 yrs + 7 months old. I have not yet had a follow up appointment with my FS and in the meantime have been driving myself crazy trying to find stats on what this means. I can't find much of a graph or anything on the net to tell me if this is good, bad or average.

Does anyone have a useful link that would help me, or even just give me your opinion?

Thanks so much
Nat

Hi Nat,

From what I've heard (I'm not an expert though), once you hit 40 you can expect to see your AMH go into single digits (ie. under 10). I think 7.2 is ok. Mine is 1.1 and I'm only 36 so that should give you some assurance.

Others my have different opinions so I'd be keen to hear.

Hi indigoboys, here's a link with heaps of useful info about the AMH test.

http://www.repromed.com.au/custom/files/AM...rs%203.4.09.pdf

As mentioned in the doc the link takes you to, AMH tests are not recommended for those over 40 as all women over 40 will have diminished ovarian reserve. That said, your result looks like it's in the normal range for your age based on the graph.
