But hey it's really important that kids learn these life lessons..lesson #1 for 5-6 year olds, people can be really really nasty. Yes, people can be really nasty. What is happening to your children is sad and shouldn't happen, but it is. You can't control other peoples actions, but you can control how you react and deal with them. You should be really proud holy_j of how your children react, even though they are singled out, they still try and remain positive, they sound like wonderful children. |

I am very proud of her. I said she could have a birthday party this year, and she still wants to invite everyone in her class, plus another 2 kids that she plays with at lunchtimes so none of the kids in her class have to feel left out. She's already a better person than I am at 6.
Sorry for the hijack OP. |

Hard not to feel for our kids when they're on the receiving end of some of the less nice parts of being at school OP. I empathise.
I agree with the policies where if one kid is invited, they all are. We don't do big parties very often, but when we do we'll invite everyone. Later on we might modify it to all of the same gender. My oldest is in FYOS so not old enough to be that selective. We are at a small school and I will not be responsible for hurting a child's feelings. |
