I was in the same boat and we had such a hard time to start, but once you learn how to latch the baby properly (they don't just naturally know how to do it!) and get a comfy position, it gets much easier. I found this breastfeeding wedge invaluable -
http://www.bigw.com.au/baby/feeding/breast...a-nursing-wedge My baby is now 6 months old and we still use it on top of a pillow to put him at the right height level. I am only sad that he's outgrown it pretty much and we have to find something new! LOL You will get there, don't give up, it is totally worth it! |

I have big boobs and a baby who has a cleft lip. Feeding is hard. Add to that, baby is Premmie and born at 1.5 kgs 11 weeks ago. He is now 3.2 kgs, so is tiny in comparison to my ginormous mammary. He has reflux and is a very hungry baby, I'm just about done with it as he takes the bottle much better than he feeds from the breast, but we are still going. I need two hands, one to support the breast and the other to position his head, I also do football on the left side. It works but I dont feel comfortable doing it. I hope I will once his lip is fixed as I fed my DD till she was 18 months despite the big boobies!!
Good luck OP |
