I just booked in my 20 week scan Yay original.gif
It isn't until the 23rd of January but I wanted to book it in early so that it is one less thing for me to do!

The lady I spoke to confessed me a bit though, I hope she booked me in for the right scan!!! But how many types of scans can a pregnant lady get at 20wks!!

And I was just doing some reading and it said you can get the scan from 18 wks! Maybe I'll call back and change it as I don't want to wait any longer than I have to! I can't wait to see the baby again (and find out the sex!)
She also said that it was going to cost $215. Does anyone know if that prices is reasonable?

Has anyone else booked in their 20wk scan yet?

Hi i just had my 20 week scan, and it was $215 - i think its officially called a Morphology Scan.

The place i went did a 3d session towards the end but i think the price is pretty standard, it can be a rather long scan.

ETA - Sorry i don't belong in this group, i didn't realise as it come up in recent topics, hope i've helped though.

Hi Sezza83,

Can you believe we are already talking about our 20 week scan? Very exciting.

Anhoo - I booked mine in when I had the 12 week scan. Mine is scheduled for the 17th of January and they advised it will cost $266!!!!!!

I absolutely cant wait as my MS has completely gone and I dont really feel much except that I am starting to show now. I just cant wait to see the little one again and find out the sex so I can decorate the nursery and buy some cute clothes.
Im trying to just let it all happen now as I found the first 12 weeks super stressful. Im just going to enjoy the Xmas period and then before I know it, I will be having my 20wk scan.

Thanks for the info working_mummy, I am pretty sure they have booked me in for the right scan then original.gif

Woolly Jumper, It is SO exciting! The first 12wks went so slow and I think because it is Christmas and I am so busy the next few weeks are going to go so fast! and before I know it it will be time for the scan! original.gif I hope the place I go to will do the 4d scan!
$266? That is more then what I was quoted!

My m/s is pretty much gone, I still have to make sure I eat regularly other wise I feel really sick. And I am starting to show which I am very excited about! I have noticed it depends what clothes I wear as to how much you can see my baby bump, you still can't really tell when I have my work uniform on as it is pretty loose.

Hi sezza apparently the scan can be done at 18 weeks but the heart doubles in size between 18 and 19 weeks so some places like to wait. I was told to come in between 19 and 19.5 weeks - very specific!!!

Ive been told the closer to 22 weeks the better to get clearer images. Ill be aim to get the morphology scan at about 21 weeks.
Cant help with the cost, but there is definitely a rebate for that scan.

Hiya, Im from the May DIG group and I have my scan tomm at 18 weeks 5 days. The lady on the phone said that was absolutely fine. I remember having my scan at about 18 1/2 weeks with DS too and all good, everything could be seen/checked etc without any issues.

Edited to add: my scan will be costing $220.00

I also am not in this group, Congrats on bubba biggrin.gif
with my 20 week scan I booked at savage xray (i live in brissie) It cost me nothing and they did a 3d at the end. I also got advised to come at 20 weeks as it was easyer to see things and the arteries of the heart are just that little bit bigger.
Good luck!! biggrin.gif

These dates are coming up fast aren't they! With the Xmas rush they'll be here before we know it.

I am booked into SoGI in Brisbane for the 13th January, I'll be 19w2days which is when they prefer to do it. SoGi specialise in 3D/4D scans and I had my last two pregnancies done through them and can't fault them at all original.gif I think she said it's about $340 and I get about $150 back from medicare. It is more expensive but they give you quite a detailed package and a really good look at bub etc.

I just really want to know what gender bub is now, the suspense is getting to me, especially with everyone telling me every day that they want it to be a girl this time! Being bub #5 I've been able to feel a few little flutters this week which is really nice and reassuring, my bump is really starting to show now too, but aside from that I don't even feel pregnant. It'll be nice to hear the heartbeat on the doppler at my checkup this week too!

I was told to book in my 20 week scan as soon as I booked my 12 week scan because they ultrasound place books up quick, so I have 2nd of Feb marked down already. They didn't give me a price like they did with the 12 week one, but said that it includes the 3d picture, is that pretty standard now?
