Have you had good or bad experiences with anesthetists working out of Murdoch Hospital? Can you please share these experiences with me.
Which would you recommend? Which would you avoid? |

Two brilliant experiences. Didn't get any say/choice either time tho.

Thanks Theresa. Did you have a woman for either of those? And were they for c-sections?

I had a woman the second time but even if we were allowed to mention names I couldn't as I don't remember. She was lovely tho, I had a female ob too, dh was the only man in the room when jack was born.

Thank you. I'm very nervous about my anaesthesia and just found out I have a different one from last time. Wondering what feedback from others I can dig up. Might make me feel better or I could request the other guy - although perhaps she'll be better.

Do you get to meet them before hand? Why are you nervous? If it helps I had a failed epidural and general anesthetic the first time round (but the guy was still lovely, not his fault) and a wonderful spinal the second. I told her I didnt want another Epi and she was brilliant, made sure I was truly comfortable that I was numb before the ob started. (felt incision 1st time).
Maybe if you can have an appt beforehand you can talk about why you are nervous and she can allay your fears before the big day. |

My first was similar to your first Theresa only they didn't knock me out, they just kept increasing the drugs and it was rather awful because I felt it but I was really drugged.
I had really low blood pressure last time so I want to make sure the rest is good, as my last two were, but just to work on that part. The last guy was so nice. I just found a Medical Board meeting minutes where they were disciplining my first Ob for some pretty gross malpractice. Yuck. That experience was awful and it's shocking to read what he did to women. |
