Anyone got a recommendation for a bike that is good for overweight ppl?
I am around 125kgs and would like to cycle with Dd for fitness but am a bit nervous about purchasing a run of the mill bike? |

Good on you! At 125kg you shouldn't have a problem on a hybrid or mountain bike. I would gO to your local bike shop and ask them what they recommend in your budget. Bear in mind that bikes under $500 are rarely worth buying.dont buy from Kmart/bigw. Those bikes are cr@p for anyone. If you tell me where you live I can recommend a shop/shops.

We are in Canberra, it would be good to go and chat to one of the bike shops (although a bit embarrassing!). I'm not sure our budget could stretch to $500+ though.... We were originally thinking $2-300 |

It is not about the bike - it is about the seat!
Get the bike you can afford (I recommend second hand) and leave $80 or so in the kitty to get a nice wide good quality seat. Tell the bike shop people you aren't interested in aerodynamics, wicking et.al, you want COMFORT! They will help you. |
