Guy in our parenting class to the midwife: "What, can't I just drop her at the door and you'll call me when things get interesting?" Pretty sure he slept on the couch that night.

I agree with PPs, complaining about any pain during labour is not good. I stubbed my toe on the edge of the bed, and it did hurt, but complaining did not go over well.

DO NOT tell her that morning sickness is all in her mind, if she thinks she is going to have morning sickness she will.

DH bought me a "Beached Az" t=shirt with the whale on it. Lucky it arrived while I still found it amusing!

Caramel_Swirl, I can see why he's now your ex....

smudged roll2.gif , I'll have to remember that one.

Hmmm, don't call maternity clothes "fat lady clothes". My DH liked to stir me when looking at maternity clothes; "fat lady clothes" he'd call them. He got a stern talking to about body image and how pregnant women are particularly sensitive, and I'm determined not to think of myself as fat (unless I do end up blowing right out, so far I'm doing well, and haven't gained any excess), I'm pregnant, I'm supposed to get a baby tummy!

I am laughin very hard at the moment so many priceless things said. Don't at the dating scan mention that your son is due right at the best time for shark season. Nor at your 3rd daughters dating scan mention that it has happened again this time is is tuna season and complain both times that you have missed competitions for no reason and keep bringing up in arguments "remember how you thought you might go early so I stayed home and you didn't it's like that time and I am right again"

dont point out new stretch marks. she knows they're there & if she hasn't seen them yet, then let her believe for a little bit longer that they're not there!

"are you wearing that?" not a good move at any time, but to an 8.5mth pregnant woman with probably limited options of things that still fit, REALLY not a good idea

Mum of girls
Do not describe EVER to anyone her post birth-waiting to be stitched vagina as "a trainwreck" mad.gif
Do not laugh at her at all.
Do not call her fat/wide anything. There is a whole person inside her.
Do not invite your parents/brothers/friends over at all in the last month of pregnancy unless SHE suggests it.
Do not invite ANYONE to the birth room until she has had a shower. Be a gate keeper for her and keep them out.

DO go get whatever it is she is craving at ridiculous-o'clock. Especially if she has just vomited for the 20th time that day.
DO expect that for the first 3 months, she will want to come home from work and sleep.
Do let her talk her fears and worries through as many times as she needs.
DO contstantly tell her she is amazing, looks beautiful, is doing a great job etc.

This thread has seriously made my afternoon..

My advice? Don't make any beeps.. you know.. the ones that sound like a heavy vehicle is reversing..

And yes, I had a friend who was silly enough to do it to his wife!
