The leading online babysitter and nanny agency ‘Find A Babysitter’ has now joined Essential Baby.
Find A Babysitter was founded by Delia Timms and Jeff Bonnes in 2005 and has quickly grown to become the largest babysitter and nanny site in Australia. Delia, originally a speech pathologist, started the site as a solution to her own childcare woes. Struggling on waiting lists at local childcare centres and frustrated with her ability to source local sitters, she drew up a business plan and launched ‘Find A Babysitter’ 6 months later with her web developer husband from home. Optimising the site for search engines, they watched the site grow quickly and it now has over 44,000 carers for parents to access. Parents pay a subscription fee to post a job and then recruit and interview the sitters and nannies directly. Delia tells EB that parents like the fact the agency middleman is removed and parents can interact with carers directly. “ This gives them peace of mind because they have done the checking themselves.” I’m sure you’ve seen some of the promotion around the site and next year we plan to give the site it a shiny new look. Organising childcare is a constant and pressing issues for mums all across Australia and with child centre costs predicted to rise, nannies and carers are now becoming an another option. Hopefully this site will help EB mums in some way. Try searching for local carers by typing in your postcode here: Find A Babysitter |
