I DETEST "obvious" humour in TV shows and movies. Like when the joke has to be actually spelt out to you and explained after a humourous comment is made. A typical situation in American sitcoms and movies. Yes! We got the joke....you don't have to explain it!! Just make a comment!!!

English comedy definitely appeals to me, as does a lot of Australian comedy. It seems to be so more subtle and "clever" in my opinion. A comment or comeback doesn't need explanation that so many American shows seem to need.

Like I said in the other thread I generally like (what I consider) witty, dry and/or sarcastic one liners (such as in Daria and Black Books), geek humour (such as in Red Dwarf and the Big Bang Theory) and random stuff (Top Gear). I also like 'kids' comedies such as Muppets and Pixar films.

I hate with a passion Seinfeld, anything with Chris Lilley and toilet/peurile humour such as can be found in South Park, Family guy and Beavis and Butthead.

I don't do Bacon or LOLCats but I do do LOLChairs

I'm big on puns and inuendo, like Monty Python etc. Slapstick has me rolling my eyes. This comes from my Dad, he was very much an 'intellectual' humourist - I grew up doing long car trips listening to tapes of The Goon Show lol.

I like Family Guy because it pushes the obvious to the extreme as one giant p*ss-take.

I enjoy Python, Big Bang, Shaun of the Dead - that sort of thing.

Little Britain and British sitcoms leave me cold. Anything that relies on the characters being stupid or clumsy annoys me.

I love the old British surrealist type of humour along the lines of Monty Python. Most British stuff I like. A lot of the American stuff leaves me cold. Generally if there has to be a laugh track to tell you what's funny, I'm not laughing along.
Most crass humour makes me feel slightly nauseous, although I still think there's a place for a good fart joke.
I love the British standup comics like Billy Connolly, Ben Elton and Ross Noble.

I like Little Britain, it's so wrong... can't stand Borat though, humiliating 'real' people doesn't make me laugh.

The "comedies" I like are not the laugh out loud kind usually.
My current favourite is "Parks and Recreation", though "30 Rock" has also been a recent fave.

Can't stand stuff like "Big Bang Theory", but was a fan of Seinfeld.
Did like the Monty Python crew. Didn't like Rowan Atkinson stuff, except for Blackadder.

I'm very all over the place with humour.

Chasers crack me up. I do love politically incorrect -- always sorta gets me as I think it's gone too far, but still CRINGE at some of the comments. The thing is, sometimes it's just so true to what you have seen and experienced.
