So confused, I'm going to be 6 weeks pregnant forever!! Please help.

What do you consider to be more accurate????

According to the EB calculator (last period 11 Mar) i'm just on 7.5 weeks pregnant.

Blood tests confirmed that 2 weeks ago, I was between 5-6 weeks pregnant.

Ultrasound this week suggests that i'm only 6.3 weeks pregnant.

I swear i'm going to be 6 weeks forever.... ohmy.gif

EB calculator also puts baby's due date as 16 Dec, Ultrasound 22 Dec

What do you all think?

As far as I was told, blood tests can't give an accurate indication as hCG levels vary so much from person to person.

EB calculator will be basing your dates on a 28 day cycle with a 14 day lutal phase (most online ones do).

If it were me, I would be going by the u/s. That's the most accurate of the three.

It is my understanding that most practioners prefer to go with ultrasound dates if available. So EDD 22nd December? Great day to be born!

Don't belong here, saw it in recent topics. The best thing to go by is your ultrasound at this stage.

If I went by my last period date with my previous pregnancies I would have been 1-2 weeks further along than I thought as I have longer cycles, and tend to ovulate later. I went by my ultrasound dates and still went overdue both times.

22 Dec is a great day for baby having, if I do say so myself original.gif

Bloods are no use! I agree with everyone, go with the ultrasound. But remember, your pregnancy is progressing, even if you've had to move the dates, so it's not really going nowhere, even if it feels like that

My OB says the U/S can be out by up to 5 days. I had my dating scan on Thursday and it put me at 7W and 3D, but I know we are closer to 8 weeks based on when we were TTC.

From what i understand (and dont quote me on it cause im not a doctor) is that early on in pregnancy, the development of babies pretty much happens in recognisable stages, so it is more accurate to get a due date. Studies have shown that in most cases development changes daily. It is not until further along in pregnancy that dates can be thrown out as some bubbas then develop slightly slower/faster than others.

What EB and other due date calculators do is assume that you know exactly when you ovulated or your cycle date. Some even assume that you O'd exactly 14 days before your period would have been due. Thats not always the case and you also need to take into consideration that for most, conception isnt a specific date- some spermies are faster than others!

I would rely on ultrasound.
